Problems with new PC

Hello,a friend of my daughter came over with a program called Pinnacle Studio 9. When I got home from work, they said they coudn't get the program to work. Well I come to find out, that the program is not Vista certified. Now I can't get it off our PC. When I try to uninstall it, it keeps saying "_SetFilter0 error: OS Version not set!" Is this something that you can help me with? I also tried to get some help with Microsoft, but I have yet to get a response.
1/16/09 I tried to do a system restore, but windows said a problem occured. Now I am stuck!! Also, I tried to do the Windows Easy transfer, but the disc drive wouldn't write the software for my old PC to use. Luckily I also have a laptop and got the software from there. HELP!! The new PC I am using has only been out of the box for about 3 weeks, and I am having problems with it already. Bad omen?

I cannot get front composite video jacks to work. I want to capture video from VCR using Pinnacle.

You don't need ATI capture anything. Pinnacle Studio does that. Make sure your composite input is not disabled on your PC. Make sure Pinnacle is setup to capture from that card/device. Make sure your video device is outputting to the composite.

May 12th, 2008: Some customers reported problems installing Studio Plus version 11 UPGRADE (11.0) or Studio version 11 Standard (11.0) on systems with Windows XP Service Pack 3 was already installed (a message asking for Windows XP Service Pack 2 is displayed). Pinnacle is investigating this problem.
We can offer you the following workaround:
  • Copy all the content of the Installation DVD of Studio version 11 to your hard disk in a new folder.
  • Download http://cdn.pinnaclesys.com/SupportFiles/Studio11/WelcomeSP3.exe
  • Copy the file WelcomeSP3.exe to the root of the directory where the Installation DVD was copy
  • Double-click on WelcomeSP3.exe to launch it. It will take few seconds and then the Studio version 11 installation will start.
