Setting up ringtones for specific callers on a krazr k1
Ive tried all the steps that people have posted. I dont even understand how to set up each caller with a ringtone thats already in the phone. Example right now all are the same but i want ...mom to have continental, ...dad to have moto..........sis to have zen........how do i do this???
the manual is also useless.(to me) it say to go to page 74 for ringtones, but doesnt even mention ringtones or how to do the setup.
Is it just me or ???

Thank you for using FixYa,
You can't change the messaging tone to a song from your music playlist, these options for choosing your own music as ringtones are restricted to an alarm tone, phone ringtone and caller ringtone (caller ringtone is when specific people calls you, a certain ringtone would appear for that caller to differentiate between callers)
However, you can change your message ringtone to certain ringtones for your Galaxy S phone by going through the following steps:
(P.S I am assuming that you are using the stock Samsung SMS application)
Go to your stock Samsung SMS app (it's named as 'Messaging')
Press the softkey 'menu' button
Go to settings, scroll down and from there you can see the option 'select ringtone'

Because it is a unlocked phone! Anytime you hear about a unlocked phone its not a good thing as most people think it is. When you unlock a phone you only unlock it to make phone calls, and simple text's. You can get or send pic's, pic messages, or even surf the web on them. My advice is to get a phone that is locked to your service provider.
Here are the step by step instructions:
0. Put your ringtones in the local folder: \Application Data\Sounds
1. Go to "Contacts"
2. Select the contact you want to add a ringtone to
3. Click "Edit" (the left soft key below the screen, it will be the one to the right of the Home key)
4. Scroll down to Custom Ring Tone
5. The ringtones you placed in the folder should be listed
