Question about Ranger RCI-2995DX Base Scanner
I have a 2995DX and use a Turner Plus 2 microphone. Just recently, I've noticed it wants to squeal, or even hum, like the mic gain is up to high. I tried the stock microphone on it and I try to get the modulation up with the gain, and I detect some talk back through the external and internal speaker. No special mods have been done with this radio to have talk back. I really like this radio and want to keep it for a while. I thought it might be the Turner acting up and tried to trouble shoot that, but, like I said, the stock mic is acting the same, but not as dramatic.
Please help me...
ITS JUST NOT THE TURNER MIC IT HAPPENS WITH ALL BASE MICS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2995DX WITH A ASTATIC D-104 & 1104-C AND ALSO ANY TURNER I HAVE USED BUT I CAN RUN A ASTATIC MOBILE D-104M6B OR RED DEVIL AND NO SQUEAL HAVE YOU TRIED GROUNDING THE CASE OF THE RADIO IT IS RF FEED BACK SQUEAL SO MY SUGGESTION TO YOU IS TO RUN A 48 COPPER GROUND ROD INTO THE GROUND AND RUN A NICE GROUND WIRE TO THE BACK OR THE CHASIS OF THE RADIO AND IF YOU ARE USING ANY EXTERNAL AMPLIFIERS ALSO GROUND THEM AND YOUR SQUEAL WILL BE ILLMINATED
