Sounds like you've replaced everything but the backlight itself!
If you have another working unit, connect this LCD panel to the working unit and see if it works. If it's still dark, you need to replace the FL tube (backlight(s) ).

Hello, I have an HD 2200 Gateway monitor and the problem is the back-light keeps cutting off after about 2 second when powered up. I replaced 3 capacitors by the heat sinks and replace one between the two...

The problem is most likely in the inverter board or the display lamps "less likely" the inverter board is bad for bulging capacitors that open causing the lamps to flicker or go on and off like a lamp switch. The option is to attempt a repair or replace the board "If available"

Your problem is the back lights are not being powered. There is a signal going to your FPD because the power light remains on, but the back lights are what helps support an image from the Front Panel Display.
The only way to fix this is to open it up.

If its got 3 boards inside((logic-->video, Inverter, Power)) The problem is the Inverter. Replace it.
If its got 2 boards inside ((Logic-->video, Power)) The problem is the power supply. The inverter is embedded onto it.

Simply replace the part with a known good one, and you got a spanking new monitor.

As for User Guest

Your issue is nearly the same issue when it turns off on you. But the doubling effect is from the power being supplied by an old or weary power outlet to an FPD. That can be the cause. Try different locations.

Well I wish you both luck and I hope this solution can help you with the problem.
Thanks

Ccfl inverter board

The most prevalent failure on these boards are the transformers and or the ic that controls the frequency of the lamp drive. More times than not you will find a bad transformer.

Horizontal lines on my monitor

Lines on screens are usually caused by damage to the ribbons on the actual screen face itself (something only a few professional lcd repair shops can repair).
Sometimes caused by a bump, other times from over-wetting when cleaning, or dampness/moisture issues
The inverter-power board does Not control picture, It just controls the backlight bulbs and powering the video board.
Picture is powered from the video display board.

Replacing Inverter Board

I did some poking around and only found a few places that sold inverter boards for this monitor. Ebay has one that sells for about $80: http://cgi.ebay.com/Backlight-Inverter-for-Gateway-FPD1930-LCD-Monitor_W0QQitemZ160070918225QQcategoryZ174QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWINQ3aPOST0Q3aRECOQ3aBINQQcmdZViewItem I wasn't able to find any specific instructions posted, however, taking a typical LCD panel apart and replacing the board shouldn't be too difficult. The only hard part is not getting shocked, which is why this is not a job for the typical user. Anyway to disassemble the typical LCD you remove the pedestal from the back of the LCD then remove the screws around the back of the LCD, remove the back and look for the inverter board. Typically it is covered with a metal shield; again the hard part is knowing how to correctly handle the parts. Considering you can buy a new 17" LCD for $120 to $150 (and has a 1 year warranty) you might want to consider investing in a new monitor instead. If you have any other questions let us know, otherwise please don?t forget to rate this posting.
