Retrieve a track that was deleted by mistake

Assuming you're asking about a memory card and you haven't added anything to it, plug the card into a card reader connected to your computer. Do a Google search for "file recovery software" and select a program appropriate for your computer. Hopefully that software will recover your deleted file.

Deleted driver by mistake

Most printers come with an insulation disk, you can get them from there. Otherwise try re-installing your printer software, you might have to remove it first. Windows should find the drivers. You can also search for the drivers using windows without uninstalling the software.

Norton 360

You can go to www.norton.com and download a 30 day trial for norton 360 if your particular to it. Otherwise you can purchase the full version from there too. Although if you want a good Internet Security Suite i would recommend Kaspersky.

I have a Canon scanner 5000f. All of a sudden the computer won't recognize it and says it is "unable to select Twain Source." What do I do?

First you need to follow the instructions for installing the scanner. It is important whether you connect the scanner before the software is installed and whether you work from the new hardware found box or just install the driver as software. It sometimes varies between operating systems as well.

Sometimes the twain files can become corrupted. Since other devices like digital cameras use the twain files they aren’t erased with a driver uninstall or overwritten with an install. If the twain files are gone the driver install will also install them.

Uninstall ScanGear (I think that is the Canon driver software) and remove the scanner if it is still showing in device manager and control panel under scanners. Unplug the USB.
Do a search for twain and delete all you find in the Windows folder. There is probably a folder and several files – delete them all. Do not remove any twain files not in the Windows folder.
Dig out the instructions and reinstall the scanner exactly according to them.

Scanning

When you scan whether from the LCD control panel or even launching the scanning from the software, you need to identify what you want to do whether to scan to PC or save as pdf or as an attachment. I read the manual and there is no specify button whether you the LCD panel of software application. When you scanned the page, did you get a partial scan or nothing? If you got a partial scan then I think there might be something wrong w/the printer that is triggering the CIS(Contact Image Sensor) to quit. It might be either or both hardware and software. I suggest you take it to Canon for check up.
If you don't get anything, then did you sepcficy where you want to scanned image to go?

Will not scan to my pc

Recoonect the scanner and see whether your PC detects the scanner or not there might be a faulty USB cable, try reinstalling the software.(If you are using windows XP, go to control pannel>Camera & scanner and check whether your 2400 is there in the list or not)Cancel if there is any pending jobs. Restsrt the PC and try again. It should work otherwise the scanner might need a servicing.
