Tiger Electronics 2-XL Robot has no sound or lights

2-XL Robot stopped responding to the program cassettes. No sound or lights come on. I have tried new batteries and checked volume level. The toy was stored inside the home so not exposed to moisture or extreme temperatures. It just mysteriously stopped working.

I do not know what you are talking about (did you mean for me to contact Tiger Electronics?) , but I decided that the batteries I thought were new (they were in a basket where I put new batteries after I open a package to get one out) might have at least one in the group that was not new so I bought 4 new batteries and 2XL now works fine. A guy who owns four 2XLs had told me if the problem was a weak battery I would still get sound but it would sound sluggish. Apparently that is not true in this case :) Thanks anyway =)

The Mego 2-XL and the newer Tiger both require maintenance on the 8 track/cassete players.
Half of the units I have repaired have had the IC inside ruined by connecting the wrong external power supply or the correct one but with the polarity reversed. This kills the IC.

My WowWee Roboquad is not responding to remote. The remote is functionally. My Roboquad is just moving the legs, not walking, and is searching with the head. What should I do? Thanks! Oana

Try using the Roboquad in another room away from any possible interference signals from computers, laptops, neighbours WIFI, etc. And out of strong sunlight to avoid Infra-Red saturation. Ensure batteries of robot were installed with power switch in OFF position. Try the DEMO button to see if it dances OK. Try pressing STOP button TWICE within 6 seconds to do a reset, see if that helps. Good Luck

How do you use the input stop control to stop the robot?

You will have to explain what robot you are referring to; a toy, a video game character, a program bot?
Version? Model #?

confusing instructions indeed

try using robot with the power source plugged into it robot wont shut down like it does on battery
reset button on robot base

point the remote controller towards the robot’s IR receiver so that he receives the signal properly.

You can turn off Mr. Personality from a distance using the remote controller; Table 2 describes how.
NOTE:
If you want to turn him on after having turned him off using the remote controller’s power button,
you need to restart him using the power button on the
robot (press it OFF and then ON again).

Cant get my R.O.B. to work!

I don't know for sure but the robot may not easily work with flat screen tvs. The robot won't work if it doesn't get the video response from the tv screen.

I know the light gun is a hard item to find in working condition. Maybe the eyes don't work.

Also, its over 20 years old. May need a few more attempts to get it working. (old electronics need a few attempts to get working sometimes.)

Hope that helps.
