There could be any number of things that are causing your computer to only boot properly in safe mode. please (as much as you can) the conditions under which this started happening.
Two things are (almost) certain.
-> This is a software problem, probably with the operating system.
-> This can be fixed by reinstalling Windows.
Here's how you reinstall your operating system (windows) and return your computer to the original factory condition (software-wise).
IF YOU FOLLOW THESE STEPS ALL YOUR FILES AND PROGRAMS WILL BE LOST. BACK UP EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU REINStALL YOUR OS.
I beleive Acer provides a system restore utility. To get to this, turn off your laptop, and as soon as you turn it back on, keep holding Alt while you keep pressing F10 . Follow the instructions and prompts. this process should take 1-2 hours to complete. if Alt+F10 does not work, consult your owner's manual for the proper key combination. If your laptop came with restaore disks, please use those. If you need to burn them and haven't yet, you should still be able to do so in safe mode (but I am not positive about this).
this should help you if you ever end up having to search for drivers: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_5315.html

good luck. if you decide to reinstall... just be sure you have all your program disks, keys, etc, and all your files backed up.

but, before you do that, I suggest you try Rockitman's solution first. Just don't forget to back up your important documents (I've had a bad experience with Windows messing up the permissions for a bunch of files, but that should not happen to you and happens very rarely.)

This is about all you can do.

  1. Reboot into Safe Mode and created another User Account with Administration privileges.
  2. When you get into Windows using the newly created account.
  3. Delete the other user Accounts.
  4. Create a new account for yourself.
  5. Restart and log in to the new account.

Hello everyone! I'm having some problems with my Acer Aspire 3634WLMi Notebook. The screen light is very dim - we've tried SIS Utility Tray but that doesn't help and I don't have Acer ePower Management...

Usally a sign that your backlight has gone as this would only happen if on battery power and on power saver mode otherwise.
if its anything other than windows 7 check your power management setting in control panel or just right click on the desktop and screensaver tab then power button.

Forgotten user password

yes you can but you will loose all information on the computer. Try booting it up in safe mode by pressing F8 right after the acer sign soon as you turn the laptop on.

Err:syntax when I try to graph with ''-'' on ti-84 plus

Hello,
The calculator has two minus signs
  1. The regular MINUS sign which is used with the subtraction operation. This operation is binary, requiring two operands (two terms). In a-b, a and be are the operands (they very specific names, but I will skip this detail).
  2. The negation or change sign. This operation is called unary, requiring one operand. -a means take the negative of the number a.
These are the technicalities, in which you may not be interested. On calculators, the two operations are implemented differently, with two signs, the regular minus sign -- , and the change sign (-) usually smaller in size than the regular -- sign and raised above the main line.

Examples. Let (-) be the negation and -- the regular minus.
  • If you enter (-) 12 the TI84Plus accepts it and calculates the negative of 12.
  • If you enter 12 (-) 13 the TI protests with a syntax error
  • If you enter 12 ( (-) 13) the calculator interprets it as 12* (-13) and calculates -156.
  • If you enter --12, the calculator displays Ans--12, where Ans is the last result calculated. If Ans happens to be 0, the new result is obviously the one you are expecting. But if Ans holds a non zero value, this is incorrect.
Suppose you have to calculate X^(-2)*X^(-1/3)
You can enter it exactly as it is written above. In this case, you must use the change sign (-) in both factors.
You can also decide to use the power rules and enter the expression as X^( -2 --1/3). In this case the first minus is the negation and the second is the regular minus.

I could go on with a few more examples, but that will take us away from your present concern.

In short.
  1. If the minus sign is the leftmost (first) symbol in your function (after the Y1=) you should use the negation. Any subsequent minus should be the regular minus --
  2. If the minus sign is the first symbol in an exponent, you must use the negation. Any subsequent minus in the expression of an exponent should be the regular minus --
I hope it did not bore you death with details you do not care to know about. I do hope that it will help you prevent this type of syntax errors.

Every time i punch in 1000 - 500 i keep getting a negative sign in front of my numbers. and the = doesnt work. please help

Hello,
Calculators usually have two minuses, the regular minus sign and the change sign sometimes labeled (-) or (+/-). The latter is not meant to effect a subtraction, but to take the negative of the number you just entered. Big difference, would you say, but the syntax is different.
Ex: 15 - 7 is a subtraction with result 8
10 (-) displays -10 on the screen.
In some calculators the change sign is smaller than the regular minus, and is raised above the main line.
Hope it helps.
