Your memory most likely hasn't physically gone anywhere. There's two possibilities:

1) You've mistakenly confused the 1.33GHz processor speed as 1.33GB RAM. Not sure that 1.33GB RAM is possible on these, as there was always 256MB RAM soldered on the motherboard, and maximum you could add would have been 1024MB (1GB) extra. That would still yield only 1280MB, though.

2) You did have 1.33GB RAM at some point previously, and the RAM chip installed in there has failed. Usually when this happens, the computer will tell you with a service tone (or series of service tones) at startup instead of the usual boot chime.

Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: Add Memory to G4 Notebook

Don it's real easy.

http://www.macinstruct.com/node/162

Slim down version

  • Pop the cover and you'll see the motherboard.
  • Atach anti-static cable to chasis of pc and touch the battery pack or pc frame.
  • Put the card in the memory slot.
  • Remvoe cable adn replace cover.
  • Re-start pc.
Note:

I wouldn't fix your pc on carpet (static reasons) or while your standing wearing socks on carpet with the Mac on the table (obviously).

Sounds simple but you've never believe how may people forget.

That's it.

What type of ram can I add to my Compaq EVO 510 CMT and what is the max amount?

DDR SDRAM type Ram i.e. DDR1 with 266mhz speed with DDR266/PC2100 compliance. You can simply ask for DDR SDRAM 266Mhz or you can find online with the similar compliance, DDR266/PC2100 Compliance.

I hope you still have the old one which was installed on the system, if so look at the white sticker, it should be labelled there...

I wish to add RAM in the PC. Mine motherboard-Epox-EP-4BDA533(I). ID(identification)-05/09/2003-i845d-6A69VPA8C-00. On it costs RAM 256Mb -DDR PC2100 266Mg FSB-400Mg. How many Mb it is possible to add....

Manufacturer Specifications - EPoX EP-4BDA533I Number of Slots:
Slot 1
Slot 2
Each memory slot can hold DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.
  • 184-pin DIMM Banking: 2 (2 banks of 1)
  • Chipset: Intel 845D
  • Error Detection Support: ECC and non-ECC
  • Graphics Support: AGP 4X
  • Max Component Density: 512Mb
  • Max Unbuffered DDR SDRAM: 2048MB
  • Module Types Supported: Unbuffered only
  • Supported DRAM Types: DDR SDRAM only
  • USB Support: 1.x Compliant
Q: What memory goes into my computer, and will a faster speed be backward-compatible?
A: DDR memory with support for DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 speeds.
Because DDR memory is backward-compatible, you can safely upgrade your system with any of the guaranteed-compatible DDR speeds listed below, even if your manual calls for PC1600 or PC2100 speeds.
Q: How much memory can my computer handle?
A: 2048MB.
Adding the maximum amount of memory will improve performance and help extend the useful life of your system as you run increasingly demanding software applications in the future.
Q: Do I have to install matching pairs?
A: No.
No, you can install modules one at a time, and you can mix different densities of modules in your computer. But if your computer supports dual-channel memory configurations, you should install in identical pairs (preferably in kits) for optimal performance.
Q: Does my computer support dual-channel memory?
A: No.
Your system does not support dual channel.
Q: Does my computer support ECC memory?
A: Yes.
Your system supports ECC. You can put non-ECC modules into an ECC system, but be sure not to mix ECC and non-ECC modules within a system. Install the same type of modules that are already in your system.

Upgrade of RAM

184 pin DDR DIMM is the correct information :) The bus speed of the ram would range from PC 2100 - PC 3200. I assume the Max amount of ram will probably be 2gb though unless your motherboard specifies a higher amount.

Which memory ram for amilo pro v7010

http://www.fujitsu-siemens.ru/Resources/123/2080773523.pdf

Here's a link to the Data Sheet with the specifications to that Laptop in Adobe Reader format.

Looks like your Laptop came with either 256 or 512 MB of DDR SDRAM and it is upgradable to 2 GB of DDR SDRAM.

You can check to see exactly how much RAM your computer came with by going to Control Panel, double-click System and it should tell you how much RAM you currently have in the System Properties box.

The motherboard has 2 slots for RAM, you you could add a second 256 MB or a second 512 MB stick of RAM. Or if you wanted to upgrade to the 2GB of maximum RAM this computer handles, then you can take out the RAM chip(s) that is installed and install two 1G DDR SDRAM.
