Need help opening an older Caloric Prestige Series Range top

Generally you just need to place a flat blade screw driver in the crack about 3 inched below stove top and pry up, this exposes the entire under pan of the stove top.

THere is no bottom element in this oven. Is there supposed to be one??

you are right jsrock, there is an element under the floor pan, but if this person bought it from someone (not a dealer) that may explain the lack of knowledge. The benefit here is in the cleaning, and not having to lift the heating element to place foil or teflon sheets underneath as in "the old days." I like it this way better!

Oven not heating properly

Hello- Sometimes ignitors work enough to light burner, but not enough to step up gas flow at regulator. Lower burner ignitor is bad if resistance is less than 4ohms. New part through local app. parts store.- 50-75$. Ignitor is mounted next to burner under bottom pan in oven. Plug is behind pan drawer. Fairly easy to replace. hope this helps- Thanks- ED

Shower floor

Hi,
A couple of layers of very heavy plastic will do the trick.
Just form up you showr pan and then cut the plastic so that it willlay nisely in the bottom of the forms.
Pour your concrete and then build you shower.
If you can afford ans they are not that expensive, you can get a complete kit at like home Depot or Lowe's.
Comes with a heavy rubber mat and a drain made to seal to the mat. These may be for a tile job, but will work for concrete also.

I hope that this will help you to solve your problem!

There is a bad odor blowing out from under my Whirlpool side-by-side refigerator. How do I fix it?

Hi

Odors in the refrigerator can come from many different sources. Spoiling food, spilled milk, open food. Often a really good cleaning out with an ammonia cleaner can help or with a baking soda water mixture.
But, sometimes an odor can "permeate" into one of the plastic parts found inside the fridge, crisper pans, door liners, shelf supports. Even after you have found the spoiling food, removed it, cleaned the fridge up.....sometimes another plastic part will pick up this odor and continue to give the odor back off. A few things that can help with this type of an odor, place one these inside the fridge section:
- box of baking soda
- dish of coffee grounds
- open slices of bread
The bread trick can be used to effectively to remove odors. Just throw a slice or two onto one of the shelves in the fresh food compartment, leave the bread slice(s) in there for 12-24 hours -no longer- and then throw the bread out or I throw the bread outside for the birds to eat. When bread goes stall, it will **** in odors very well. Because the air inside the refrigerator is blown between both sections, this will help the fridge and freezer sections. Do this for about a week and you should notice a big change in the odor problem :-)
A really bad odor problem. Sometimes something like milk or juice is spilled inside the fridge. The liquid can run under the plastic edge breakers and get into the insulation. This can be very difficult to clean and may require a service call to have the old insulation removed and replaced with new insulation in that section.

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

I can not find my model number jgbp29mem1bs on the inter net any where. what I want to know if I can get removable pans to go under burners

Sears carries the drip pans you need. They have models for GE / Hotpoint that were made for models before 1990 and the newer ones also that are made after 1990. (Electric) Here is a link to one of the made after 1990 models.

Hope this helps someone. :-)
