Light flickering then only green stays on. Chip problem ?

Optoma EP-739. After couple minutes get light flickering then only the green stays on. I was told it could be a chip going bad. Are these chips easy to replace ? not integrated to system board ? or would I be better off replacing entire motherboard ?

Thanks so much.

Colorwheel. you should replace it.

You might try using canned air to blow around the color wheel. Sometimes dust particles clog the color wheel timing sensor & it may be an easy fix. Remove the lamp cover door & remove the lamp, use a small flashlight & shine on the color wheel which sits directly in front of the lamp. Blow air towards the opening that leads to the wheel & try to get air to flow upwards by bending the plastic tube as the sensor usually sits atop the wheel. Inspect the lamp while you have it out & look inside lamp at small bulb for any bulging, discoloration (should be clear). If it's fogged or white colored it has too many hours & needs to be replaced. Reseat the lamp & try again to see if there's improvement. There are many causes for this condition but this may be a quick & easy fix.
    Good luck,
    Jim

hi,
Do one one thing. check the lamp of your projector. For removing the lamp see the bellow picture.
also check the lamp colling fan. If it is faulty this fault can occur.

2.Push up and remove the cover.(2)
3. Remove the 2 screws from the lamp module.(3)

Hi,

It sounds like the projector itself has a fault. Sadly it's often uneconomic to repair budget projectors which are out of warranty when the cost of repair is compared to that of replacement. You should speak to Optoma support and see who their local agent is, and then ask for a quote.

UK support can be found here

They will usually charge a fee to have a look and then they'll offer an estimate for repair.

I have an optima EP 739 projector and I just replaced a bulb in it but it does not come on just green light whats up Any input would be appreciated

if the fans come on and the lamp doesn't, it's the ballast or the colorwheel. if no fans either, it's the power supply. also, did you reset the lamp timer?

Program Optoma EP-739 remote to Bell Express Vue 3100 remote

1 - Hold the clear tv buttom until all 4 light flash red
2- Press the red tv buttom
3- Press the amount of time needed on the up cursor ( around select buttom) until your tv shut down
4-When the tv goes off press the search buttom ( at the end on the right side )
5-Press record

Then u can use the red tv buttom to control ur tv and u can control the volume on satelitte mode without going back to tv mode , if u press too much time while searching the code and the tv wont light back , do the same thing but instead pressing the up cursor press the down one to go back on the code it will be faster .

Optoma EP739 Projector Overheating

Set the projector to "high altitude mode." It will be noisier, but won't overheat. I wonder whether using one of those $10-$20 laptop coolers underneath it might be a quieter solution.
