Question about Kodak EasyShare C875 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Low Battery Shortly after putting in newly recharged batteries the low battery symbol comes on as if the batteries were old. Also tried new non rechargable batteries just to see if it was the rechargables, same results.

I have tried many different new, out of package, and just bought rechargeable. Nothing works. Why have a camera if it doesn't work and how many different kinds of batteries does someone need to buy?

Many Kodak brand cameras have this problem, and when I say many I mean almost all. The only solution is to try different types/brands of batteries until you find one that lasts.

Well, when I try to on my camera even with a newly bought batteries, it kept saying ' Battery Low '..So, I wanna know, what's wrong with this camera..

You don't say what camera you have, so I am assuming that it is one that uses AA batteries.

You need to use good batteries, alkaline at least, but high capacity NiMH rechargeables are better. Zinc batteries are not up to the task and will probably read low from new (and not last long).

My computer will not recharge the battery or turn on with the power cord, all that happens is that the battery symbol light blinks on and off in orange. What can I do to fix the problem, it started shortly...

try to power drain the system. remove the battery from the computer , unplug charger then press and hold the power button for about a minute just to drain remaining power then try to turn it back on again. if the problem still persist you might need to have motherboard replacemnt

Battery life

The rechargeables are only meant to last a couple years maximum (pretty good that you got three out of them). Also rechargeable NiMH's have approximately 5 times the power of standard alkaline batteries. Alkaline batteries should only be used in emergencies in digital cameras as they will only last for a short while before they are drained (as you've discovered).

The obvious solution is that it's time to consider purchasing a new set of rechargeable NiMH batteries. Look on the package for a power rating of at least 2,500 mah. Avoid batteries that do not list the power rating as they are generally inferior batteries.

Flashing battery symbol

I had this same problem today.  I called Honeywell and they said the flashing broken battery symbol may mean low batteries, or it may mean the battery type is incorrect.  They recommend only non-rechargeable alkaline batteries.  I was using rechargeable NiMH batteries.  Even though they were fully charged, I had the flashing battery symbol and the thermostat relay would not work.  I replaced with alkaline, the flashing battery indicator went out, the thermostat works again.
Odd that it worked for 3 months on the rechargeables after first install. I did notice the broken battery symbol came on after the first few days, but I checked the battery charges and they were good, so I disregarded the symbol until the thermostat stopped working today.  Apparently there is something about the NiMH performance characteristic that the thermostat doesn't like.

Hi i have a CANON A1000 IS and I just got it a week ago and the batteries lasted me 2 days. I tried charging my camera but when i went to turn my camera back on it said low batteries then immedietly after...

Hello,
Are you installing Nmh (Nickle- Metal Hydride) rechargable batteries?
If not then your camera probably will not recharege them.
Also trying to recharge non rechargable batteries can cause damage to the battery, and possibly your camera.
Hope this is helpful.

Zen Vision M battery not charging

The problem was partially solved in that I put my old battery back in and at least it charged properly. I did receive a new battery from BatteryMill and I fitted it and left it charging for 5 hours. However, when I unplugged it to see if it had charged at all it did the low battery thing and then when I tried to recharge it the battery fully charged symbol ame up. I suspect that had I left the new battery charging for say 24 hours it might have charged fully. However, I have decided to send my batteries back and get a refund. The problem must be something to do with a battery memory problem.

Camera will not stay on.....

the 3 beeping sound means that the camera has low battery capacity. the lens is stuck out because there is incorrect battery connection. there is an option on the camera setting for the battery type. try this one:
-turn the camera on
-click on Menu button
-select options using left/right, up/down button
-select Set up 2
-Select Battery type
-Select Alkaline for non-rechargable
or Ni-MH for rechargable
-click OK button

this setting should be done when using camera for the first time and whenever you are switching battery types, from rechargable to non-rechargable and vice versa.

Battery/power-up problem

For what its worth I had this same problem with both rechargeables and alkcalines. Fresh batteries were rejected after just a few shots and were clearly NOT dead. Solution seems to be either use Sony's NP-NH25 cybershot battery which is made of two AA batteries jointed at the hip or use generic rechargeable NiMh batteries with a capacity superior to Sony's battery (>2500mAh).
