Question about Samsung HT-Q70 Home Theater System System

1 Answer

Samsung ht-q70 I put in an HD-DVD and of course the HT system could not read it. Next time I turned on the HT System all the lights in the front display were illuminated. Consequently, I cannot figure out how to work it now. I called Samsung, and they wanted me to ship it to them along with a check for $160.00. I took it to my local repair place, and they said the main board has to be replaced because a chip is no good and they cannot get that chip anymore. But they can get the chip on a new main board. They wanted about $260 for the job. Can this be fixed for under $100 or should I just sell it "as is" on ebay. Thanks

Everytime I turn my on samsung ht-q70 the display screen says protection and the system shuts off. what can i do to get the protection off

The amplifier has a bad channel, or is bad itself. It is trying to either output too much current or is not putting out enough. If you have multiple speakers wired to one channel, you will either have to change the wiring to series(unit positive to first speaker red, first red to second BLACK, second red to unit negative) or remove on speaker. (If this is the case, then you might want to look at this. It is a tip/rick to place and properly/successfully run three subwoofers, but the main concept can be used on all channels.) If all channels are wired to he correct speaker, then the amp is in fact at fault.

My Samsung HT-Q70 5 disc drawer won't stay closed. It doesn't matter if a disc is in or out or radio selected or anything, it just pops out. Anyone with an idea??

make sure its fully cleaned. many appliances will automaticly open the disktray if there is a reading error. DO NOT TOUCH THE LENS. i suggest a simple blow over the lens and cleaning the disk, try again. if all else fails, contact your seller and get a trade in.

How do i connect/play my turntable?

Hi sorry to say cant go direct.

What you can do if really want it running is get a RIAA pre amp with power supply (search google local shops). The turn table plugs into that, then that plugs into one of the analogue inputs of the Q70. That will work great if prepared for the effort!

Best of luck

Samsung HT-A100 Home Cinema system plays cd only with tv on!

Hi,
You need to put away the remote for your TV and use only the remote for your HT system. Your HT remote should work on your TV by default. Your Samsung HT remote should have a TV button and a DVD/Receiver button (or HT button). When using only the TV, press the TV button and then use it for just the TV and when using the HT system, press the DVD/Receiver button and then you can use the HT system.
If for some reason your TV is not set on the Samsung HT remote by default, your HT users manual should have a list of codes that you can use to program your HT remote. Hope that helps you. Gary

Samsung ht q100

No it does not. It will upscale regular DVD's to HD resolution, but that's an electronic trick. You'll need to buy a BluRay player to watch high definition discs.

The HD-DVD standard has been abandoned by Toshiba, so the Sony players are the one's to look for.

You might try unplugging it from the wall for about 30 minutes or longer, maybe overnite. I don't know if there is a different proceedure to do a reset. Good luck.

  1. With the home theater system off, press and hold the REMAIN button on the home theater's remote control for 5 seconds.
Note: You can release the REMAIN button when the POWER LED blinks blue/Red depending on model.
  2. With the SWA-3000 turned on, use a ball point pen to press the RESET button on the back of the SWA-3000. The POWER LED in the front of the home theater blinks two times.
