Just make sure your laptop has either built-in wireless already (what is the make and model?) or you'll need to buy a wireless adapter (usually a PCMCIA or USB). They are easy to hook up generally speaking. We're here to help with that if the instructions aren't clear enough for you.

Absolutely. It would be best to bring your fully charged laptop with you to make sure you get exactly what you need. What is the make and model?

This explains how to connect a Latitude 100L (I didn't see anything for a C ). To see if you already have wireless built in, right click My Computer, Properites, choose the Hardware Tab then Device Manager. Under Network adapters click the + sign and see if you have anything that says Wireless Adapter. If you see it, you're in business and only need a wireless router.

It means you have wireless capabilities. All you need now is the wireless router to send out a signal that your wireless card will pick up. Right click the mini card and see if it says enabled or disabled. Let me know.

New download of windows 7 won't retain or create internet connectins

Ok, this is conflicting... won't retain or create!! Doesn't it have to be created to retain it?

Did it connect before you downloaded windows 7? Exactly what happens when you try to get on the internet? Do you have the wireless switch on the laptop turned on? Do you see your wireless router? If so did you put the password in correctly? If not, it will never connect.

I recently had to install a new hard drive for my laptop i did this over the phone with shaw when i was hooked back up to the internet my connection is unsecure if i reboot my d link will i be able to make...

Unless you changed the settings on the router, the "secure" connection should still be configured into the router,
and still should be available.

So, login to your router, and check your wireless-setup configuration, and, if necessary, reconfigure it to create a "secure" wireless network.

Can't get wireless to work on laptop

You may use the System restore utility on windows by going to all programs then Accessories... Open system Tools and then System Restore. You may resotre your system to an earlier time, time when you are still able to connect to your router wirelessly.

I have an older HP laptop with no wireless capability. We have DSL with the wireless router connected to our desktop. The only way I can access the internet is by putting in the AT&T air card. I don't want...

You can connect to the Internet using your DSL wireless router by several methods.
1. If your HP has a LAN port the you can connect to your wireless router with a LAN cable (provided you have a spare LAN port on the router.
2. You can use a USB wireless adapter to connect to the wireless router.
3. You can use a PCMCIA wireless card to connect to the wireless router.
Both the wireless USB and PCMCIA wireless adapter are approx. $50, my preference is to use a PCMCIA adapter, it leaves the USB port free for other devices, such as USB memory sticks, especially if the laptop has only one USB port.
