It has arrived with broken wing May I try to stick it and use for garden and return later for replacement? Bought from Prime arrived late and badly packaged large box but dragon in corner?

This page is not the page to make this enquiry
if you do anything to it or keep it, you accept any damage and will negate any claim for warranty or replacement
Take photos of packaging and of the broken item and inform the supplier immediately that it arrived badly packed and damaged and that you want a replacement sent immediately or a refund of the money for the item
the supplier has insurance against damage in transit so thee will be no legal objection for what you want

It was supposed to be new. When it arrived it had a bad mouldy smell and was slimey at the back. the instruction book said theri might be residue water from it being tested. Never heard of such a t

Supplier is conning you and what they have sent is probably shop soiled stock or more likely ex-display or possibly worse.

Outdoor equipment suppliers often have road shows during the summer months where they travel from area to area to display their wares in almost real-life settings. They find a grass field, erect signs and erect a small marquee and a dozen or more tents for a week or a long weekend before moving on to the next tourist area.
Such things are regular events here.

The worse is those who sell tents at pop festivals and suchlike often find the buyers just leave them behind at the end of the week which leaves the seller to collect them and sell them all over again. Hundreds of tents and other stuff are left behind every year at Glastonbury.

I can assure you tents are not tested before dispatch. A sample of cloth is tested before being turned into a tent and of course a sample tent or two will tested. It is left to the buyers to test the majority of the production.
I am the owner of half a dozen tents of various types including a Saunders Jetpacker with which comes a nice leaflet explaining exactly what I have just written.

I suggest you complain bitterly and invoke all the consumer protection legislation you can.
The basic rule of being a complaining consumer is to refuse to accept you are wrong - the item is not as described, it is not new, it is not unused and is not fit for purpose and you want a refund and compensation for carriage and inconvenience. They have insulted and offended you, etc., etc.
They might offer a replacement but accept it stating you will reserve judgement about the refund until you have seen it. They might offer a discount on the one you already have. I suggest you ensure it is a very good discount...

Good luck!

How do i put buzz lightyear tent together

If it is like mine (year, etc) you simply first lay out the ground cloth (if you have one) long-wise, then lay the tent body on top of the ground cloth. Next, stake out both ends of the tent (at head and feet of tent). Now put your poll sets together (the large one is for near the head of the tent, the short for the near foot of the tent). Go ahead and put the polls in the aligned grommets (matching the ground cloth grommets with the tent-body grommets). Once you have the two polls inserted, then clip your tent to them. Now, with your tent erect, Place your fly on top and drape over the tent accordingly; then fasten the fly to the tent using the belt-type nylon clips to do so. In this case the fly does not need to be "staked", rather "belt-clipped" together instead. That's it, your're done. Don't be alarmed if your tent floor seems as though it's lifting off the ground in some areas, this is normal. Just go ahead and put your bed role in the tent and prepare your area as normal.

Hillary ten person family tent

Step 1 Choose a spot to set up your tent. Look for level ground that's free of large rocks or other debris. Make sure you're safely away from your campfire. If it's possible, pitch your tent away from your kitchen area as not to bring animals too close should they be attracted by the smell of food. Once you've chosen a spot, clear the ground of small rocks and sticks to give you a comfortable floor to sleep on. Step 2 Unroll your tent. Put the rainfly and poles aside. Open the tent body so it lays flat on the site you chose. Orient the door so it faces in an accessible direction. Step 3 Take out the tent poles. A basic Hillary tent will use two long poles for the tent body and one short pole of the rainfly. Assemble the two long poles and thread them through the pole guides on the tent body, attaching them to the holes in each tent corner to raise the tent. Step 4 Open the rainfly. Assemble the shorter pole and guide it through the top of the rainfly. Place the rainfly on top of the tent and secure it to the bottom of the tent body with the attached hooks. Step 5 Stake down your tent. You don't want to be surprised by a storm in the middle of the night or while you're away from camp. Stake your tent even if the weather is clear when your arrive. Use a stake at least in each corner of the tent. Find a rock to hammer them firmly into the ground.

I need assembly instruction for 8 person cabin dome tent with screen house

Clean the ground of any rocks, logs or big sticks. Open the stuff sack and pull out all of the contents. Pull the poles out of their pole bag and set them aside. Remove the tent stakes and set them next to the tent.

  • 2 Lay out the tent poles and assemble them. Push the rod blanks together to make the tent poles that will support the mesh tent body.
  • 3 Unroll the mesh tent over the cleared ground. Take care not to step on or walk on the mesh panels. Avoid sticks and snags, as the mesh rips easier than nylon tent fabric.
  • 4 Clip the Timbertop tent pole clips to the poles. There are no tent pole sleeves because Timbertop uses external pole clips for its mesh tents. Criss-cross the tent poles and push the tent pole tips into the metal holes at the end of the pole clip lines. The mesh tent will now be standing upright.
  • 5 Place one tent stake into the ground and through a pole strap stake hole. Pull the tent out as you insert the stake to keep the mesh panels tight. Stake down each pole strap around the perimeter of the tent. Unzip the doors to enter the tent. Zip up the doors quickly after entry to keep bugs and insects out of the tent.

My tent is unsafe, I have no idea how to make completely safe. I like to go camping in the northern woods, bears like to sniff and bump my tent.

Are you keeping food inside the tent?
Bears usually will not come near humans unless there is food smell coming from within the tent.
I also camp in the north woods and generally its the coyotes that are daring enough to come into a campsite. Also they use coon dogs for hunting bear which falls in public camp season and they roam about to track bear. My personnal best defense is to keep my chainsaw just inside the door as being a camp host I find myself being alone in site untill my guests arrive. The chain saw noise is a good defense to scare off anything because its very loud .And yes Ive actually had to run it one night in Particular when my site was surrounded by a pack of coyotes and they were right outside. KEEP ALL FOOD AWAY FROM TENT AT ALL TIMES. Raccoons also are very daring and will come on site even when your there if they smell food and are smart enough to open water jugs with their paws the trick to keep them out of your food is to put the coolers under the bench part of the picnic tables so the lids cant be opened.Im a very ex. camper and can give tips all day long

Instruction to put up a Coleman Rock Springs 4 Tent please?

Wow, thats a monster tent. I'll get you most of the way there, but I may miss a thing or two

Lay it down, stretch it out and peg it. That will save you a ton of time.

Next, find the four longest poles. These are the supports. Two on each side of the door, crossing diagonally to the rear. Put one end of the poles in the holes and bend until you can get the other end in. These poles should slide through sleeves in the tent. Once these are up, the rest are "extras." The tent has hooks to hold the poles to the tent.

You have two poles of equal lengths for the side windows. Again, route them thru a sleeve, bending them into the holes on either side of the windows. I can't tell, but it looks like you have a pole system for the front door too. Somehow these poles go next to the main support poles and meet up under the rain cover.

Next, lay the rain cover on top of the tent. It should connect by bungies to the bottom of the pole support holes. There might be a pole or two under the rain cover, but above the tent for support. If so. look for a small pouch that a pole could slide into on the bottom side of the rain cover. You'll run the pole from the pouch to another pouch (all under the rain cover).

Don't worry about strings or extra poles. These are for high wind. Pegging the tent down is good enough.

    Good luck
