Toshibas have an output for using an tv through composite output. It requires a special cable with a mini jack on one end and three rca male ends on the other. The yellow one for video and the red and white ones for audio.

If it's a third mini jack it could be the composite output jack. My Toshiba is configured that way. Is there an icon next to the jack?

Whats the complete model number of the unit (based on the label on the bottom of your computer)? I'll look it up on the support website.

After the P100 there should be a number that starts with ST on the lablel. It contains four digits.

Try going into the control panel and look under system. Does it give you a better model number in there?

Toshiba satilite series will not bootup. three long beeps,3 more long bips one short. what is this saying?

in my experience with this type of issue it can mean your hard drive is dead or something is wrong with your RAM if you have a spare hard drive on hand and ram replace the hard drive and ram and see if it fixes your problem

I just got a toshiba theaterview sd dolby digital

That particular TV has both "component video" and standard video inputs. The DVD player might have a component video output (it will be three separate connectors of three different colors.) You will need a component video patch cable available at most electronics stores. If your DVD player doesn't have that input then use the standard video connector, yellow wire connects the video out on the DVD player to the Video input on the TV. The red and white wires are the left and right stereo audio connections they also make a cable for that. It will be color coded so make sure you match the codes from the output to the input on the TV. This set has two video inputs, you will get your best resolution if you use them instead of a "channel" input.

You will need the remote to select the video 1 or video 2 inputs. You can connect your DVD player and your game at the same time. Just use video 1 for the DVD and video 2 for the game. They require the yellow, red and white connector cables. Just follow the color code and match the colors with the jacks on the TV and other units. There is actually a third video input Video 3 behind the little door on the front panel. That would be convenient for the game if you want to remove it easily when not in use.

Push the menu button on the remote (big button in the middle) go to the video function and select either Video 1 for your DVD, Video 2 or 3 for your game.

The correct video input for what you want to view is important. Also if you don't have the user's manual it's available for free here:

You might also need to download an Adobe Viewer which allows you to read .pdf files.
That is also available for free at:

If you already have malware protection (viruses and the like) un-check the MacAfee box so you don't download that too.

As I said in a post to another person, make sure that you're routing the TV signal into or through the VCR. If it's from Cable/Satellite or Digital Converter box, it will simply need to be routed with a coaxial cable, it's a simple fiberoptic cable with a copper or gold prong that you screw onto the back. If you're unable to do this, the box for your broadcast/satellite/cable should have a three-way output, color-coded white, red, and yellow. The red and white are for stereo sound, and the yellow is for the video signal. You can route that output into the three-way input on the back or front of the VCR. This can be technically more challenging, depending on how it needs to have the input setup, for instance needing to be on a specific channel, but routing the cable through the input and output for the VCR is the simple way, and should give you no trouble.

Toshiba satilite P100...wont turn of

Try these:

1. Can you plug something else besides your laptop into the outlet...verify you have power?

2. Is there a light on your AC adapter...when you plug it in?

3. Try removing your battery and plugging it in, and verify that your AC adapter is working (somehow, if it has no indicator light)

4. Then unplug it, put the battery back in and see if it will start.

Let us know what happens after you try these.

Toshiba 50HP66 Plasma TV

Found that video 1 and video 2 switching does not work. The switching IC was HOT!. Then found a third video input works but no sound. Hooked -up sound output of DVD player to amplified loudspkr and it works, I hate to throw away a 2 year-old plasma TV when TV and cable still works.
Thanks for the offer anyway.
