Question about PC Desktops

1 Answer

I am unable to start spyware doctor. When I enter the license code it keeps saying it is wrong. I have even had a third party check, they thought it was right. Wrong. I am not sure where I stand with PCTools, but I have paid you $279.75 over the past three years, but have never been able to use any of your programsit. It asks for a license number either I don't have it, or I have the wrong one. I bought these programs for my two machines. I am no where near getting it up and running on the first machine let alone the second. Please refer to Order confirmations 9085456 and 7749983 I need halp. I am very busy in my business, which is why I have been so long in getting help from you. . Please e-mail me at gvwright@charter.net or call me at 530-544-6245. I am told you have a good program which is why I ordered it. I would like to see it work I am not prepared to pay for this advice, I would think you would be as interested in getting me on line as I am. Gerry Wright 1-16-2009 - 3:45PM (PST)

Although Spyware Doctor is a fine program, if PCTools has not been cooperative it is probably time to move on. There are plenty of free alternatives to security such as AVG Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destroy.

Dear Sir, My spyware doctor expired last feb. 2011, insted of renewing it, i purchase spyware doctor with anti virus on line last jan 18, 2011. Question: 1- why the expired spyware doctor is keep on...

If i understand this correctly, you have purchased Spyware Doctor, but can't install it. If this is true, click "start", find "control panel" and click to open. When control panel opens, find "Programs and Features". Right click on that and open. Find Spyware Doctor in the list that comes up and right click on that. Click on uninstall. Click, next, or allow on all windows that pop up. At the end you will see "finish". When done if it doesn't prompt you to restart, then do so. Now go back into progarms and features and make sure anything having Spyware Doctor is gone. If so exit.
When computer restarts, install your insatllation cd for your spyware. You should either see "run" or "allow", or a window will pop up and, at the bottom of the window, You should see "open file with...". Click on that. This will open another window that lists your files for the software. You should see "autorun", maybe with a icon, or, 'autorun.exe". Right click on the auorun file and it shoul start your download immediately or will ask you to allow to run. When downloading, you might have to click next or allow on certain things for download to complete. When it gets to end, click on finish and if not prompted to restart then do so. After restart, you sofware may open or you may have a new icon in your group. If it doesn't open automatically, click on the icon.

I have bought nero 7 and although I have followed directions, I am still unable to load it onto my computer. It keeps informing me that the serial number is wrong. Where am I going wrong?

Are you using the "-" key between each characters or typing it in a a whole, could be an issue. Also uising Capital Letters can affect code also. Try and keep the same as what you see. Also make sure your not typing in zeros where the letter o is or vice-versa. Also Install without serial number if you can, and when it completes go into nero and change license to your key. I bought online and downloaded it with the demo license provided and then afterwards change it.

Antivirus 2008

Hey mteder,

In some instances, spyware and virus have been known to masquerade as anti-virus programs. If you do not remember ever installing this program yourself or having it preinstalled on your computer when you purchased it, there is a good chance that this program may have been installed when you downloaded another file or accidentally clicked on a pop-up window.

Generally, one of the best ways to determine what this program actually is would be to install and run a third-party anti-virus program that you have purchased through a local retailer (such as Norton AntiVirus or McAfee VirusScan). As long as you have the most up-to-date virus definitions for either of these programs, you should be able to easily locate quarantine and remove most malicious software threats from your computer.

Some versions of Windows may even offer an additional removal tool that can be used much in the same way as these third-party anti-virus programs. For more information on this feature however, you may wish to visit Microsoft's support center at the website I've provided a link to below.

Please keep in mind that there may be exceptions that require further action, and that you can always speak with a Geek Squad® agent at your local Best Buy™ store for further assistance.

Hope this helps you out.

Sincerely,
Aaron
