I have purchased the overload relay based on the recommendation of Mike one of the local experts and a great guy. Of course the parts came with no instructions, and I don't have any wiring diagrams. I'm by no means an expert, but not a complete moron with a set of tools. When I removed the back vented panel and the plastic cover exposing the relay....the parts I have ordered, and the parts I see, are not the same, so it's not a simple "swap" of parts. Does anyone have diagrams, or instructions on how to replace this unit? Please email email@example.com with any info.
Re: How to replace overload relay in Maytag Skybox
I'm not sure what you mean by "overload relay". I designed the electronic controls for Skybox. I have some parts, all of the schematics. I do not have any of the refridgeration components.
I just ran across your question looking for Skybox graphic panels for mine. I'm not sure how I can get you what you need.

the whirlpool part is the oem part and is the best part for your repair it should replace wire for wire and require very little instruction. the 3-n-1 will cause premature failure of the compressor and is not recommended. As far as I know there really isnt a service manual available for the skybox. It was a very limited production product that didnt stay available for very long. thnaks Peyton
Maytag never offered a replacement compressor for the SkyBox units. It was not a cost effective repar to make. If you are sure the thermostat is supplying 120VAC to the compressor, you can install a Supco URCO410 relay/capacitor/overload kit. This part should only be installed by a qualified service technician.
Maytag never offered a compressor as a replacement part for the SkyBox. It simply was not cost effective. If you are sure the thermostat is supplying 120VAC to the compressor, then have a qualified service technician install a Supco URCO410 relay/capacitor/overload kit on the compressor. As with any sealed refrigeration system, the US Environmental Protection Agency requires that a certified refrigeration technician recover the refrigerant charge before accessing the sealed system.
I hope this helped.
