Try doing this steps:
1. Switch to Yahoo Mail Classic (see Options Menu).
2. Look at My Folders then go to Deleted Items. The "unread" messages are likely to be junk that you deleted, without reading, before switching to the New Yahoo Mail.
3. Check the contents of Deleted Items, and delete everything you don't want to keep.
4. Switch back to the new Yahoo Mail

Remove Unread Email Count from the Windows XP Login Screen
For All Users:
Goto Start and select run, in the run box type Regedit and click ok. OnceRegedit has started navigate toHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUnreadMail
Once there Create a new DWORD (Right click in right hand pane, New>DWORD) called MessageExpiryDays
Doubleclick the DWORD MessageExpireyDays you just created and be sure thevalue is set to 0 (should be the default value if this is a new DWORD).If you only wish to make a change to your own user edit this registrykey insteadHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUnreadMail
Ifyou don't feel happy modifying the registry yourself you can use thefollowing .reg files to make the nessisary changes for you
Turn Off
Turn On
For your user account:
Goto Start and select run, in the run box type Regedit and click ok. OnceRegedit has started navigate toHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionUnreadMail
In the right window you should see a DWORD called MessageExpiryDays, double click this and set its value to 0.

Can not read or delete email. I click on message and it will not come up.Also cant figure out how to delete emails.

1. This kind of response problem is common. When this happens log out of the system entirely and log back in again a few minutes later.. When you log back in you should be OK. If not then restart your computer, turn the internet connection off and then back on and you should be able to log back on and open your emails. If not then the system is at fault - temporarily - and all users will be affected.

2. (a) There is normally a delete button on the email display. Select the email you want to delete in the email listing (no need to open it) and hit the delete button on the email page display. That should send the email to the junk/trash folder or delete it entirely. If it sends the email to a junk/trash folder you open up that folder and go through the delete process again to get rid of it entirely.
(b) If you select the email and hit the delete key on your computer that should also work to delete an email. It does on my various email accounts and it probably will on yours also.

Hi there, after open internet explorer click tools option. From there select internet options and there you found a option" delete temporary internet files, history, cookies." Just delete them & then close the internet explorer. After that go for email reading
the page will open. Thanks & waiting for your feedback.

Try to open your email from different computer, it seems your computer got virus blocking your internet explorer to open, or your internet explorer becomes corrupted.
