Question about Amana NAV5800A Top Load Washer
I have the whole washing machine apart. Only part I cant seem to get out is the transmission and the agitator. They are driven on the same rod/bearing. I cant figure out how to get the agitator out, as I am guessing there is a snap ring or something holding the rod in. any help much appreciated.
Sounds like the water seal is damaged and the leaking water has damaged the top bearing which is just below the water seal. You will need to have the hub & seal kit replaced.

The top panel?? Remove the screws at the bottom front. Pull the front panel out from the bottom while releasing the clips on top. remove the screws in the corners under the front of the top panel and swing the top up.

It's not worth fixing!
If it's 10 years old or more, better off replacing it with a newer machine which will be much more efficient!
Not worth the money to fix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
