I was hoping to find the answer to this problem. I'm having the same issue. I have all the audio files in the memory card audio folder under "my stuff", but cannot get the music player to come on. It keeps reseting the phone going to the AT&T screen and searches for the SIM and goes back to the home screen. Please help!

mine does the exact same thing im trying to figure it out

  • Anonymous Feb 26, 2009

bought this phone for my daughter in november and the music player worked. But since january, whenever she tries to use the music player it restarts the phone. I spent an hour on the phone with AT&T and they sent us a new phone (same brand) and it does the exact same thing too!

I've deleted every file off the SD card, to no avail. I've tried starting the music player with no SD card inserted, to no avail. It is getting very frustrating!

man i got the exact problem. it wont let me play the songs at all. not even from external. im thinkin i might take it back or get a new one.

from november to january is like 3 months. i got mine in january and its now the ends of march. maybe the matrix only plays songs for like 3 months and then maybe it stops working? idk... just a theory.

im getting frustrated with it. its an awesome phone but i think the best solution is getting it replaced.

My Pantech Matrix's music player worked fine the first two months or so that i had it but now whenever i try to listen to music the message "waiting" appears for about two minutes then my phone restarts.

I can still listen to music through the external memory but i can only listen to one song at a time and every time i want to load a different song it takes about three minutes to load.

This is extremely frustrating, especially since i payed an extra $200 for this phone. Iv,e only had it since February 26, 2009 and it is already having problems.

Does anybody know if AT&T will replace it with a different phone of equal value, because it seems like this is a fairly common problem and it seems to be an issue with the phone itself.

I had the same problem. I put music on my SD card, and whenever I tried to play it, my phone would reset. I looked through the files, and found that the songs i had bought on iTunes were all in MP4 format. I downloaded the 4media mp4 to mp3 converter, and converted the files. When I put the card back into my phone, the music player worked perfectly!

Note: MP4 files DO NOT have question marks beside them in the phone. The only way you can tell is to highlight the files on a computer. Hope this was a help!!

Ok i figured it out. it wouldnt let me go to the "all music" section. it wud just restart. and it happened after i put a certain song in there. just out of coincedence i deleted the song. then like the next day i tried listening to music and it worked! i asked myself: wat changed?
and i realized that i had delelted that song off of it. to see if i was correct, i went home and put the song back on my phone. sure enough it restarted my phone. so i took the song out and it worked. good assnew.
so im thinking maybe one of your songs is causing the problem. sorry im late with the answer. hope this works on ur phones guys! its a really good phone

I've figured it out for my phone. It won't play more than like 50 songs. The media player gets stuck, all the music is on the external and shows it in the phone it is just that the media player won't load that much. I'm taking it back!

I also purchased the samsung sch r500 in august, because of the mp3 player, and i have yet to figure out how to get it to play music. i have formatted the sd card.. used a card reader to put the mp3 music...

i had this same issue....make sure all the songs are in .mp3 format, or they wont play. go into "my computer" and get into the sd card. make sure there is a folder named My_Music. Next, right click on each audio file, and click on properties, and copy and paste or drag and drop the files into the My_Music folder. put the sd card back in the phone. with the phone closed, hold the camera button in (button on right side of phone) until music plays or it says loading.

MP3 wont play in my LGkeybo

I have a Keybo 2 phone so I assume the procedure is the same for the first generation Keybo.

1) First of all, only MP3 format works, period. Don't waste time trying to load WMA or any other music format.

2) Get a micro SD card as this opens up other features of the media functions

3) Using the USB cable, connect your phone to the computer and there should be 2 file browsers that will show up: one for the internal memory and the other for the external memory (micro SD).

4) On the external memory browsing window you should find a MY MUSIC folder. Copy all your MP3 music files into this folder.

5) Unplug the USB cable and open your phone's music player. It will detect the new songs and build update the library.

There you go, you're all set! It took me a couple of hours of searching and tryouts but this works every time. Good listening!

Pick internal memory unless you have an SD card attached. Then press the "M" button on the side of the player to see if it will change menus.

Getting songs from the sd card to show on my phone

To find your music on the SD, go to my stuff, sounds, external memory, mp3 and you should see your music. Playing it, however is another matter. You can play only one song. Then you have to manually play the next one. Not what I'd call an MP3 player.

Music folder says no files

Check your local memory on your mp3 player. That's where the files actually loaded.
