How to connect my sagem to the computer and check if it is working correctly thank you

follow these steps : 1. Power off your computer. Connect the modem to the signal source. If the source is a cable signal, connect the modem with a cable wire. If it's a DSL signal, connect it with a telephone wire.
2. Connect the proper ends of the USB wire to the USB ports on the modem and the computer.
3. Connect the ethernet cable to the modem and the computer.
4. Insert the power source into the modem and then plug it into the wall socket or the series circuit.
5. Wait until all the lights on the modem are lit and then turn on the computer. When the Hardware Wizard detects the new device, you may have to insert the disk that came with it to install the software for the device. This will complete the connection of the modem to the computer.

If I connect a landline wire to my computer (Rj 11) can I use my computer as a telephone?

It depends on the modem... If it is a voice modem, yes. You would only need a program that would let you do it. I can't remember the name of the program I used years ago, but it worked as an answering machine, too. I even used a voice modification software with it and freaked some people out!

My modem randomly lost connection to the internet

Hi,

The problem is as a result of the fact that;
1.There is either a loop in the modem wire which connects to the computer,which might be due to an internal breakage in the modem wire,or;
2.The problem is from the modem port on the computer or the modem port socket at the tip of the modem wire itself.
Here is a detailed solution to the problem,
1.Conduct a thorough check on the modem port socket that connects to the computer and ensure that there is no breakage in the port and no chip is missing,if there is a breakage on the port or a chip is missing, replace the port socket which is at the tip of the modem wire.

2.Perform a thorough cleaning on the modem port on the computer and on the modem itself with the help of a small paintbrush and methylated spirit.
3.If the problem persists, the next option is to replace the modem wire with a new one.

The above solution will definitely solve your problem.

Have a nice day.

Intalling GVC Anatel modem model#SF-1156I/R2F

Dell used this modem in their Dimension Desktops. If your modem has a sticker on it with D P/N 08F217, (Dell Part #) the driver for Windows 2000/XP may be one of these two files:

Try this first:
ftp://ftp.dell.com/comm/R58827.EXE

If that does not work, try this:
ftp://ftp.dell.com/comm/R47698.EXE

Another useful site:
http://download.modem-help.co.uk/mfcs-D/Dell/
Scroll down to the GVC modems. There are several different 1156I models, but I could not figure out how to tell which model I have using their Zinc, Graphite, Titanium, etc naming convention.

I doubt you will find a Windows Vista driver???

Adding another computer to network

You can have 4 PCs connecting to your 2 wire 2701hgv or 2700hgv wired or wirelessly. Make sure the DSL light and the internet light is green and lighted up
For wired connection, just plug in the RJ45 cable to the ethernet 1,2,3, or 4 and the other end of the RJ45 cable on your laptop LAN card or network adaptor
For wireless connectivity, SSID is 2wire followed by the last 3 digits of the SN(or serial number) and the WEP key is located at the bottom of the 2wire modem in between 2 bar codes in square brackets. If the WEP key and the SSID was changed before in the modem page, go to the modem page and see what is the latest SSID and WEP key using RJ45 cable connected

Help with home networking

There is one ethernet connection to the modem which supports one computer. I have this device with my ATT Yahoo service.

This simplest however possibly undesirable option would be to take turns using the single connection.

I added a router between the modem and my computers and I can wire up to 4 computers to the router connected to the modem.

WIreless routers (as was mine) often have 4 wired ports for multiple machines connected by wire and can accomodate additional machines wirelessly.

The first set of answers you can probably give me to assist you is the make and model of the two computers you want to connect as well as the name of your internet service provider or even better a link to their help/support web site.

If you decided to connect them with a wire could you place a wire safely (like along a wall to connect both computers)?

Second option is connect wirelessly one or both computers the information already provided.

The answer to the above question will affect the router you choose to purchase to connect the machines.

If necessary there is a means to connect the second machine to the first and the first to the internet without a router however unless you already have the hardware and are willing to have the first machine on for the second to use the internet the cost of parts for this solution will likely be the same as for the router and it is not very flexible if you want to add another machine.

I would be happy to analyze the above alternatives and provide you a recommendation to move forward -- however to do so I need you to add a comment to this request with the information about your computers and your Internet service provider. and whether or not a wire only solution works for you. Look forward to the receiving the information and providing you some options.

zoom x6 in full bridged mode Good Morning all, I have searched google and these forums, but can not seem to figure out what is going wrong with my port forwarding. Problem: Can not ssh to internal server. Setup: ADSL WAN line connected to the RJ11 jack on my Zoom x6 (model 5590C). Zoom router is currently set to FULL Bridged mode. Cat6 cable is connected to Port 1 on the Zoom router, the other end of the cable is connected to the WAN port of my WRT54GL (running Tomato v1.23). Other linux boxes are connected to the LAN ports of the WRT54GL. I am able to see the Internet from all computers on the Local Lan inside of the WRT54GL. In Tomato I see the Public WAN IP that is being passed to it via the Zoom router. WAN IP: 9x.xx.xx.xx LAN IP: 10.xx.xx.xx/28 LAN DHCP: is on and working correctly. Port forwarding->Basic->Has the following (lets use port 55555): On |||| Proto |||| Src Addr |||| Ext Prots |||| Int Ports |||| Int Addr |||| Description X |||| TCP |||| [left blank] |||| 55555 |||| 55555 |||| 10.xx.xx.14 |||| ssh server Now I have no special Iptable rules added to the WRT54GL as of yet... since I can't ssh in yet either.. The server have port 55555 entered in its /etc/ssh/sshd_config and I can access this by all computers on the internal LAN, so the server config is good. But I cannot access anything if I am coming in thru the WAN. nmap shows that all normal ports are filtered, which is good, but if I run: nmap -P0 -sV 9x.xx.xx.xx -p55555 The reply is also filtered. When I try to ssh to my WAN IP from the WAN it times out. Tomato logs are not seeing the attempted scans, though iptables is reporting 'DROP's from other things on the Internet. When I dump the Tomato Iptables config it appears to be right to me and unfortunately I did not bring a copy of them to work with me today. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything that I need to explain further or that is not clear in my post? ANY input on this would be GREATLY appreciated, even if its just a link to something that might help. Thank you all in advance!
