Buzzing sound in Battlefield 2 (PC Game)

In the PC game Battlefield 2, I can hear a slight distorted click sound whenever I navigate to a new menu, then when I begin connecting to a server, a buzzing sound starts. It's almost as loud as my volume setting, so it's definitely too annoying to ignore. A friend of mine has the same laptop, and he had the same problem. He "fixed" it by purchasing the $20.00 Audigy software from Creative, a solution I'd like to try to avoid. I already tried changing my Audio settings to Software, Hardware, Enable EAX, Low, Medium and High settings and I turned off my sound card acceleration, no luck. Other games all seem unaffected. Anyone know of anything else I can try other than giving in and purchasing some $20 audio software? THANK YOU!!!

Check to see if you have the latest audio driver from Dell, as it's sounds as there is a conflict with the game and the audio, click the link for dell drivers on your model. You may have inadvertantly loaded up windows sound drivers from a windows update, that would cause conflict as it's just a generic driver and not a correctly installed audio driver

My laptops audio and cd player doesn't work and

The first thing to try is the following:
In XP:
  • From Start Menu
  • Open Control Panel
  • Choose Classic View
  • Double click on System
  • Click on Hardware tab
  • Click on Device Manager
  • Open the Sound, Video and Game Controllers by clicking on it
  • Right click on your sound card, choose Uninstall
  • Now go to the Actions menu and choose Scan for new hardware
  • Windows will scan through your computer, discover the audio adapter and reinstall its drivers
In Vista/7:
  • From Start menu
  • Choose Control Panel
  • Choose Classic View or Large Icons in 7
  • Double click on Device Manager
  • Open the Sound, Video and Game Controllers by clicking on it
  • Right click on your sound card, choose Uninstall
  • Now go to the Actions menu and choose Scan for new hardware
  • Windows will scan through your computer, discover the audio adapter and reinstall its drivers
If these don't resolve your problem, you need to download a new audio driver from your manufacturer's website.

On dvd playback buzzing noise

Go to your start menu, control panel, hardware and sound, and under devices and hardware, click on device manager.

Click the plus sign next to sound/video/game controllers and see if there are any exclamation points next to any of the sound items. That would indicate if something were wrong with your sound card.

Let me know what you find out.

Sound driver is not working.

What model? go to acer support then to driver download, find the new driver and install it. if you accidentally installed a new driver, or if this happened suddenly go to your start menu then right click on computer go to manage, then in the navigation bar go to device management, then go to sound video and game controllers then find your audio device and right click and go to update driver, if this doesn't work try to roll back the driver in properties, otherwise you'll need to get the driver off acer.

Sims 2 won't work on vista laptop

Your Graphics Card (other names: video card, video/graphics adapter, GPU) is basically the video processing circuits used to process the games video output. These "cards" come in all shapes and sizes, and the one in your laptop may not be supported by this game. With laptops, there almost defiently not replacable.
You can confirm what type of video card you have in vista by following these steps: 1. Click the start menu, locate "Computer" right click it to bring up the right-click menu, then click "Properties" 2. On the left of the System Window, click "Device Manager" 3. Expand the "Display Adapter" branch and it will display the name/type of card you have. 4. Go to and confirm whether or not your card is supported
Unfortuently computers havn't reached the point of universality... But we love the dynamics of them :D

No sound

I am Satya.
The problem can be solved in the following ways for Windows users:
1.i.We need to click on Start Button.
ii.Next we need to click on Control Panel from the start menu.
iii. From the control panel window we need to click on "Sound & Audio devices" icon.
iv.From the Sound & Audio devices properties window we need to uncheck the Mute checkbox.
I hope this will solve the problem.
If it doesn't try this:
2.i.We need to right click on My computer Icon from the start menu.
ii.From the menu we need to click on properties. From the system properties window we need to click on Hardware Tab.
iii.Next we need to click on Device Manager button.
iv.From the device manager window select "sound, video & game controllers".
v.Right click on it and from the new menu click "scan for hardware changes".

Now proceed to play any audio file.If you get an audio output then the problem is solved.
In case you don't get an audio output click on the + sign next to "sound, video & game controllers" select "legacy audio drivers" and from the Action menu in Device Manager window click on "update driver"
Follow the steps as mentioned in the update driver wizard,by downloading the driver from the internet.Click on Next.
After completing the driver installation.
check with the audio output.
If this solves the problem then you are done.
If this doesn't try installing the Audio driver from the Driver CD that you had received when you purchased your notebook.
Hope this has helped to solve your problem.

Thank You & have a nice day!
