Hi, Internal microphone on my acer aspire 8920g which originally has vista is not working now on windows 7. To be honest I didn't pay attention while I had vista and can't now remember if it worked at...

I suggest you go into control panel and device manager and see if your internal mic is listed there. If it is right click on it and see if it is selected as your default mic. I believe it may be un-selected. If that doesn't work I would just use the external mic with Skype as the internal mics with most laptops aren't that good anyway.

Acer aspire 5920 running vista has built in mic not working

Hey,

It is all because the Microphone is not set as a default device to start recording.

Its like your computer has no device for recording even if the computer has connected with Mic.

Just change the settings and enjoy..!!!

Check the below link:

Hope it helps.

Im new at this,my sound on my laptop stopped working, kids played with it

hi there, if this was recent, try doing a system restore a day before it happened. If your kids played with it, they may have gone on a site where a virus was present. If you want to reinstall the drivers, go to the Acer website and ask for technical support.

I want to use my Acer TravelMate 5710G for Skype video calling, and the built-in microphone on the top of the screen is not working. How do I switch it on?

Right click on the speaker icon in the system tray and choose Open Volume Control. In the Volume Control window, select Options, select Properties. In the properties window, place a checkmark by Microphone in the Show the following volume control properties section. Click OK. You should now see the control for the microphone. Uncheck the mute box and the microphone is now enabled.

Acer 4220 TravelMate No incoming sound on speakers or Headset.

Hi, My Name is Henry. I am one of the technicians here.

Have you tried increasing the volume from the control panel settings.

Go to Start - Control panel - Sounds

When that opens double click on the speakers/headphones. Go to levels and increase that.

I hope this helps.

Please do not forget to rate my solutions to you.

Do you have sound working in any other application? Have you checked the device manager to see if there is a problem with the sound device or a conflict? Try updating both the sound device and the webcam drivers.

Adjusting the volume with hotkeys
  • Press the Fn key + the up arrow key. This will turn the volume level up.
  • Press the Fn key + the down arrow key to adjust volume levels down.
Checking volume control for muted input/output devices
  • Click Start, All Programs, Accessories
  • Click Entertainment, Volume Control
  • Ensure that all volume control levels are raised and any mute boxes unchecked, with the exception of the microphone.
Reinstalling the sound device
  • Click on Start, Control Panel.
  • Click on Performance and Maintenance, System
  • Select the ‘Hardware' tab then click on ‘Device Manager'
  • Click on the "+" next to ‘Sound, video and game controllers'.
  • Double-click on the ‘Realtek' audio device then the ‘Driver' tab.
  • Click ‘Uninstall'
  • Click ‘Ok' to exit out of all open windows.
  • Restart computer.
For Majbrit, check your webcam properties for any changes. You should also take a look at the administrative tools > event viewer to see if there was an event in the application log or the system log at the time your cam stopped working correctly.

Go to your speaker icon in your task bar on right hand side and right click then on volume control. Go to file then select options/properties and then scroll down to the microphone on the show volume controls box and tick it. The microphone volume slider should now show and make sure the mute is unticked.
