Re: i need help

Make sure your ignition signal wire didn't come loose somewhere. Was the Amp exposed to extreme heat?

Car amplifier just shut off and goes on and off when it wants

Driving the amplifier too hard causes it to go into protect mode to prevent damage. The amp periodically recovers and operates normally until the next overdrive peak hits it.

make sure there is equal amps on the fuse under the hood and at the amp...also make sure to never mount your amp to anything metal....wood only! hope this helps, mine did the same thing

Kenwood amp worked fine yesterday when I went to start my jeep I noticed my sub was not working when I looked at the amp the blue light was not on, I looked at all the fuses they looked fine cant figure...

If the light is out, it's not getting power or is in protect mode to prevent further damage. If you have a voltmeter, measure the voltage between GND and 12V (BAT terminal) and also between GND and REM terminal (with the car and radio on).

If neither has voltage, your ground wire has come loose. If the bat terminal has no voltage, your fuse under the hood is blown (they can blow and still look fine sometimes) or your power wire is loose or broken. If the REM terminal has no power, your wire is broke or has come loose from the back of the stereo.

When i turn my alpine MRP-M650 amp on there is a click in the sub and then nothing else. when i was driving with volume down low the sub just stopped working.

sounds like a short. did you check the amp fuse and the fuse on the power wire (under the hood) make sure there are no wires touching. most common is the wires to the sub touching on the amp. let me knwo if that helped

Amp doesn't come on

Hello rheabarb,

You did not say whether or not you checked the wiring going to your subs. Many times, a shorted or grounded speaker wire will cause an amp to fail. And if the amp powers up OK with the subs disconnected, I'd suspect one or more of the wires.

Hope this helps.

I have a lightnig audio amp its 760 watts not sure whats wrong

Did it stopped working ?
check your main fuse line under the hood ?
you should have one ! replace it ?
know if it works fine out what ohms is your amp best plays at!
and connect the correct woofer ohms ..
for that power at the most two 8 inch woofers or one 12 ich thats pushing it!

Amp and subs just stoped working

Sometimes power problems are not visible. Did you check the voltage at the amplifier with a multimeter?

Blowing fuses under hood but nothing looks smoked in the amp

Sounds like the amp is fried, most likley in one or both of the output sections. Good luck.
