HI,   If the Mac is saying everything you do it is because the "Voiceover" options for handicapped people is set to "ON."
Quick fix: Hold down the apple key (the one next to the space bar) and hit the F5 key.  This toggles Voiceover on an off.
The detailed way which allows you access to set all handicapped preferences:
1.  Go to and open Preferences. 2.  Choose "Speech." 3.  Click on "Text to Speech." 4.  Click on "Open Universal Access Preferences." 5.  Click on "Seeing" if it is not already selected. 6.  Under "Voiceover" check the circle by "OFF"

I am taking it that you are on a mac so go to the apple menu and then down to system preferences. Then click on the mouse control pane and from here you can allocate which button does what. Hope this helps.

I plugged my imac bondi blue in hit the power button and nothing happens. It seems to be ok it just won't turn on. Please help me.

First thing to do is test (and then almost certainly replace) your ten-year-old logic board battery. If the battery is dead, the power button won't function.

What do I do if every time i turn my emac on there is only a flashing file in the center of the screen and no mouse courser

I have a possible solution, but it would be helpful to know what operating system you have on your eMac. Mac OS X is the Mac operating system. Do you have Mac OS X 10.2, 10.3, or 10.4, for example.
Solution:Do you have your system discs for your eMac or an Mac OS X installation disc? You'll need it to fix the problem. Use the newest disc you have.
WARNING: There is a _slight_ risk of loss of your data (pictures, documents, etc.) when reinstalling your operating system. Backing up your precious photos and other documents is critical!

1. If the eMac is on, hold down the power button until it turns off. 2. Turn the eMac while holding down the mouse button. 3. When the CD/DVD drive opens, put the system disc in (use disc #1 if you have more than one disc). 4. Turn the machine off again by holding down the power button. 5. Turn the machine on while holding down the C key on the keyboard to boot from CD (or DVD). 6. Wait until the eMac boots from your system disc. 7. You should see the install screen. There should be an Options button. Click the Options button. 8. One of the choices will be to do an "Archive and Install". Go ahead and do an "Archive and Install", which will reinstall the operating system but leave your photos and other files. See cautions above. **Do _NOT_ click the option to ERASE the hard drive** or you'll lose all your photos, etc. 9. Once it's all done (expect it to take an hour or more), you should be able to use your computer normally.
Good luck. I hope this is understandable. If you need more help, please post again. *Please rate me if this helped.* Thanks!

I have macintosh so when i put the external hard drive it works with no problems but when i want to get sth as a backup from windows ,,the pc cant see the hard drive, except if i formated the hard drive,how...

Your Mac can read Windows hard drives, but it can't write to them. There is a free software to allow the Mac to read Windows formatted drives, but it's a bit technical. You have to install Mac-FUSE (search Google) and NTFS-3g (go to www.macupdate.com and search for NTFS-3g).

There is commercial software that will allow Windows to see Mac OS Extended (HFS+) formatted hard drives, including MacDrive. I believe it's about $50. If you are using Windows on your Mac via Apple's BootCamp feature and you have Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard", make sure you install the drivers from the Snow Leopard disc that will allow Windows to read Mac formatted disks.

You can also format your external drive as FAT 32 from your Mac (use Disk Utility in /Applications/Utilities). But FAT is ancient. That's MS-DOS's filesystem. It's not great. But if you want to do it, use your Mac (yes, your Mac because it can format larger drives as FAT than Windows can):

**WARNING***WARNING*** this will ERASE all data on the hard drive. Back up first!***WARNING
1. Click the magnifying glass in the upper right corner of your Mac's screen.
2. Type: Disk Utility
3. Click the Disk Utility Application that comes up (or press Return if you're using Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6).
4. Click the icon of your external hard drive.
5. Click the Erase tab.
6. Change the format to FAT 32 and Give the drive a one word name, no more than 8 letters.
7 Click the Erase button. ***WARNING*** This will erase your drive!
8. Now the drive can be read by Windows or Mac OS X.

Whew! Lots of info. I hope this helped. Please let us know if it helped. Let us know if it didn't, too. We'll do our best to help. If this helped you, please rate me.

Good luck!

Remove drive and try to pull one side of the drive off that will allow to remove card. You may still have to replace the drive if it tried to turn on with the card inserted.

Computer freezes at grey screen

  1. Start from your Mac OS X Install disc: Insert the installation disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
  2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
  3. Click the First Aid tab.
  4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
  5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
  6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk.

MacBook Desktop Lost My Desktop Folders

Hello, it semms that you have a "permission" issue, or that you are accesing another account on the computer without noticing it. Please repair disk and permissions from the disk utility on your install DVD:

- Insert install DVD
- reboot the mac holding the C key
- choose english
- Go to the utilities menu and choose Disk Utility
- In the disk utility window, SOS tab, select your drive, and hit repair disk and repair permissions
- reboot

Also check that you are accessing the account that you want and not another one: log out, and log in...
