Lost Password and wont let me do anything???Help

So my cousin did something to his laptop and now when it turns on it asks for A password after the Toshiba screen (before the Microsoft Windows Screen). I tried entering into the BIOS but it asks for A password before it lets me in the BIOS so it doesnt let me do anything. So I have no idea what to do, can anyone help me out??

You are going to have to open the laptop up and reset the bios password. Is this something you are comfortable doing?

If so this site gives you step by step instructions. The bios battery looks like a large watch battery or car clicker (unlock remote) battery. (silver dollar) just take the battery out for about ten seconds and assemble the computer.

This will take care of the password problem. If you need more help let me know

Please don't forget to rate this response and don't let your cousin around your computer anymore :)

You will have to send this machine back to Toshiba to get this removed. They do not provide a utility to download and fix it, or a way for you to do this yourself. If it is still under warranty, take it back to where you purchased the machine and have them send it in. If it is out of warranty, call Toshiba tech support and have them give you a RMA # so that you can send it to them and they will remove the password. It's ridiculous that they handle it this way, but that's their choice. BACK UP your hard disk before sending it in also! You can do that by removing the hard disk and putting it into a hard disk enclosure for notebook drives. Then attach it as a USB drive to another machine and backup your files before sending the machine in.

The problem Is that my cousin put a password on the laptop and now when I turn it on it ask for a password and since he forgot the password I can't log on the computer

There 's lots of ways to do this, but the easiest one to explain is to reinstall the operating system. This takes place before passwords are needed so you don't have to know what the password is. The down side is you may have to format and lose files in order for it to work.

When i turn on my toshiba a135-s2276 ,,its asking for password.. pls help on how to resolve it. many thanks effie

Did you not set a password? I've never heard of them setting a password by itself. Have you tried just hitting the enter key? My PC used to ask me for a password, even though it knew I didn't have 1, when I had other user accounts on my PC. I took those off, so it doesn't ask anymore. But before that, all I had to do was hit enter, because I had no password. Give it a try. :)

You do not need any stickers all the info they need is hardcoded in the motherboard

I answered this earlier:

tap F8 during startup (just after Dell Splash Screen)
select Safe Mode
Select the administrator account (has no password by default)

when in Windows
