Question about Hotpoint Washing Machines

1 Answer

The water pours out of the bottom of the washing machine

When the water starts into the machine, it pours out of the bottom of the machine immediately. I think maybe it it a gasket or hose, but I would like to be able to repair it myself.

I think that you have a bad water jet. They are located inside the cabinet at the bottom of the washing machine. Mine was on the left rear corner, inside the cabinet to the side of the tub. Follow where the water hose goes into the washer. You will be able to fix it yourself. I didn't lay the washer down, the cabinet panels come off. Good luck. I have faith that this will be a breeze for you.

We have a Miele W830 Novotronic washing machine. Water started pouring out the bottom l.h. door from drain pump area when we tried to do a load of washing tonight. We've taken it out and cleaned it...

Although this answer is obviously not current any more I thought it may help others. We recently had the same problem with our machine. The clamp holding the hose to the detergent drawer became loose and the hose came off, allowing water to pour right down to the drain pump area. By undoing the 3 screws behind the detergent drawer + the 3 bolts around the door, I was able to open the front of the machine and tighten the hose clamp.

Washer won't start. water pours down sewer pipe

Hi, If the water is going out the drain hose, raise the drain hose so that its highest point is as high as the top of the washer. This should take care of the issue. If the water is coming out of the bottom of the machine, tip it back against the wall and look under the washer to see if a hose has broke or came loose.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

WHEN I TURN WASHER ON WATER STARTS POURING OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE MACHINE AND ONTO THE FLOOR. WATER IS COMING FROM THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE.

The drum seal is bad. The seal allows the center to come up through the tub and the tub to rotate around it, It usually has a rubber membrane that flexes so the tub can rock around. The rubber tears and the water runs right out. If you can, disassemble the washer and change the seal, otherwise the washer is toast. Sorry! You can verify this by pouring water in from a bucket. If this water doesn't run through then it is the hose from the fill valve to the water outlet under the lid.
