Problem for Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

Games keep crashing then cant shut console down

it was working fine yesturday played on fifa 09 today online it crashed then had trouble since,first it was'nt registering discs now my games come on then after few mins it crashes no matter what game then try to shut it down it does not do it,have to turn it off at mains then.
