I would bring the valve to your local appliance parts store. Likely they will be able to match it with a universal or after market valve. Make sure you write down the model and serial number of the boiler and bring it with you.

We have just bought a brand new 480cd gas rayburn boiler/cooker and it is making a very loud constant whistling noise. When the cooker part only is on there is no noise but just when boiler is going

This can be caused by several things. Incorrect Gas to Air mixture in the burner air intake valve. . Debris in the gas line to the boiler. To high a gas pressure. Depending on whether you installed this unit or not, will determine if you should try to repair or troubleshoot these issues. If it was professionally installed call the company that installed it. The only one you can't troubleshoot is the gas pressure. That needs to be done by a certified gas technician.

Hope this helps steer you in the right direction to solving the problem.

My boiler is in an outside cupboard and a frostat was fitted. My heating comes on at night and in the day when it is cold and I don't want it to as it is costing me alot of money in extra gas usage, plus it...

I am not a expert by any means but have a similar problem with an outside boiler, but mine is in a garage. It strikes me that if yours is located in a more confined space you could place a small parafin heater in the cupboard which would raise the temperature sufficiently to stop the frostat activating the boiler and also be sufficient to protect the pipes from frost. Hope this helps. John.

Got a baxi back boiler about 20 years old works fine upto the other day when the heating is on the thermosate dos'ent seem to be working the boiler is just running on full all the time and not coming on...

Can you control heat with thermostat by turning it all the way down. I assume from your description that burner is running. If it is and turning t-stat all the way down made no difference I would remove t-stat from wall and remove red or white wires from it.This should cut power to gas valve turning burner off. If this works replace t-stat. Hope this helps. Thanks.

I would like to convert my water heater and boiler system to natural gas

If you are using LP, you will have to change the orfices and spring in the gas valve. The problem is, if the boiler is over 5yrs. old you will have a real hard time finding these parts. You could
probably change the gas valve, but probably no luck on the
burner orfices.

With the Water heater, it is probably cheaper to replace the water heater.

Hot water heater is natural gas type gas is staying on all the time burning even when water is hot it continues to burn. Not hot water tank is over 10 years old should I try to repair or just replace???

The thermostat is what is out of calibration...this is built into the gas valve. Unfortunately the part cost almost what a new tank does. My opinion is to replace.....today gas valve....another 8 years the tank...

I have a two year old valiant boiler which has been working up until 2 months ago, I have several radiators that come up to temperature, go down but do not come back up again. I have had the system...

Do you hear air in the system? It may need to be purged. Do you have the little coin vents on each radiator? Try bleeding air out. Your circulator may not be working correctly. If it is more than 8 years old, it would be a good idea to replace it. By installing the thermostatic valves, you have added restriction to the system. I would suggest stepping up the pumping capacity of the new circulator. Good luck!

Pressure upto max nearly im my bolier

You don't say what kind of boiler this is but I'm going to guess that it is a hot water boiler.  If so, you have a combination valve which adjusts the water by pressure and bleeds off excess.  These valves do get corroded and dirty.  Shut down the boiler, shut off the feed water valve.  Replace the valve assembly.  Do not try to adjust these things.  Your new valve should maintain about 15 psi.

Hi,i have a vaillant turbomax combi boiler, the radiator side is working well but when running hot tap the boiler kicks in for about 5 seconds ,hot water starts to flow then boiler cuts out, water runs cold...

Which turbomax, as there a two different models. The more modern one, with the brass CPL diverter valve, located at the front left of the boiler, was very prone sticking & jamming, this would restrict flow through the hot water circuit in the boiler, and cause cycling. Vaillant actually modified the diverter. You can identify, if it is the old type, as there is a very small hole in the middle of the diverter on the old ones, probable no more than 1mm-2mm wide. The modfied one, is much bigger approx 5mm wide. If old type, replace as this usally sorts the problem

I have a 6 year old Halstead Ace High boiler which has many recurring problems due to a bad fitting. It was never flushed out causing the heat exchange needing to replaced TWICE through clogging and then...

Firstly your system needs a power flush to get rid of the grot, then it needs a good inhibitor to slow up the reappearance of the sludge.

Changing the boiler won't help. Any boiler will get clogged up but the halstead DHW heat exchanger is particualrly prone to getting gummed up. You can clean this out and refit without having to buy a new one. - but without a power flush it will happen again.
