Question about Epson Stylus Photo 1280 InkJet Printer
The printer seems to have "died". I cannot get the printer to turn on. In the meantime I have replaced it with an old HP 820cse, at least a dozen years old and it works just fine. It was plugged into the same outlet, and I went through the support recommendation of Epson Support. What could be the problem? Is there an internal fuse or something like that?
Not to be too facetious, I decided to invest in another printer...so that's how I'm going to "fix" this problem. I was told that it was an internal electrical problem and that I should take it back to where I had it serviced for overflow ink pads. The printer worked fine until a few days ago. What that technicion told me at the time, is that he didn't replace the ink pads, just cleaned them and re-set the counter (that tells you when to replace those pads). I suspect now that the problem might be in the counter. Yes, I could take the printer back, a pain-in-the-neck; whether they would charge me for another visit, I don't know since this is a different problem. The unit is a few years old....do I pump more money into it or just get a new one, since they are relatively inexpensive. Because of that, I'm not sure I want to invest in another Epson brand printer. The difference in the problem, is that when I needed new ink pads, the red and green lights flashed alternately, even though it wouldn't print. Now none of the lights comes on.
