Compaq evo n610c (by 6 users)
Someone gave me this nice laptop. Can't figure out how to turn on sound!! Does anyone know??

I can't get the sound to work on mine either. When I first start up the computer, there is sound. Beyond that, nothing. Adjusting the volume controls does nothing, and the headphone jack doesn't work.

My compac was working perfectly on new year's eve. When I tried to turn it on a couple of days later it was completely dead. No a/c power, no battery power, no system LED lights, nothing. Wasn't a very good new year's gift!
Any help would be appreciated.

omg it is the same thing with me i don't know what to do !! loll im in the same position as u ... if u have the awnser or do u know where i can like download the driver i got it some one gave it to me.. so yea email me at

One day I'd started calibration my laptop battery from 68%, it fully charged and then it became shut off at 68%. It never down to below. after some days I'd calibrated again, this time i'd started from 91%. then it started charged from 91% and fully charged. and became shut down at 91% when running in DC power. But the battery is full charged. I've tried in many way to solve this. but I can't. Please anyone help me.

Wizno audio...click start,all programs,entertainment.if you see volume control click it ,make sure not muted if you dont see it drivers not installed...search your make and model and install driver...can find here :- http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/

MasterAbout your N610c sound issue. I assume you've tried all the software options to remedy this issue. Are you having sound issues with the speakers, headphones or both? If the headphones work, then perhaps the speakers are disconnected. Look into this.
