I have a small screen which appears in the middle of my main screen which is for adjusting contrast ect. I keeps popping up I can not remove it there are buttons in the front for exit ect which will not...

Sounds like the monitor menu is popping up. If so, it is not your computer but the monitor that is causing the problem. Is the monitor menu button stuck?

Monitor does not display picture, only the mouse pointer

If you're seeing only the mouse pointer it means there is likely a problem with your hard drive. Perhaps windows has a bad file. Has anything changed recently? Any new programs? A short? a strange smell?

Menu/screen resolution/contrast box keeps popping up on screen.

By what your describing, the board in the monitor that allows you to make changes to the display is going bad (sounds like the settings button). If it were a notebook you might be able to get a board replacement (just an example I know notbooks dont have this feature in the lid). Since it seems that your display is for a desktop, I dont think it would be easy or inexpensive to get a replacement board. You will probably have to get a new monitor. If you want to fix it yourself, pull the monitor apart and get the board out. Try an electronics cleaner and put it back together. If it works, great. If it doesnt, take the board back out and take the board to an electronics (tv) repair shop and see if they can solder in a new button. If that doesnt work your back to buying a new monitor. Hope this helps...

Emachines T2385 startup problem

Psu is a Power Supply issue but the black screen with a blinking white line is not.
The blinking white line can mean there is no instructions to tell the Computer to boot up. Which could be possibly the system battery (cmos) or Hard Drive.
I would narrow those 3 things down first.

Colors on myomputer are way off

This may actually be something the monitor is doing, not windows.

ON the monitor itself, you should see some buttons. Usually there is a menu button of some kind. Anyway, press some of those buttons to see if a menu comes on the screen, and then navigate your way through some options and see if you can find a brightness or contrast setting. You then should be able to change the settings with the buttons on the monitor (left, right arrow keys, or someting similiar).

Hope this helps.
