Sony wega cuts off every 45 secs and comes back on after 30 sec. How can I fix this?

I had this problem and ordered a new replacement XL2200 lamp from Sony and that fixed it. By the way, the lamp installs from the front so there's no need to pull your TV out from the wall. Look at you manual, it is accurate in this respect. My lamp only lasted about 15 months. It costs $200 plus about $16 to ship. ou can order direct from Sony on line service.

The Tv is trying to boot and is hitting an error, entering protection mode, then reseting. With that model the most likely problem is a bad power supply. I would open it up and take a look for any clear problems (swollen capacitors etc) If you can you can google for a service manual to correctly diagnose the problem. It might be worth repair but for a 26 inch most likely not. Tiger Direct has 32 High def LCD 299 free ship right now.
If you can get a good price on a power supply and a main board this should fixyour tv. At your TVs market value (if your time worth anything) I would sell it as-is on E-bay and buy a new one.
