Question about HP LaserJet 4600 Printer

1 Answer

PCL XL error

Subsystem KERNEL
Error: IllegalTag
Operator: SetMiterLimit
Position: 13

Started happening when a scanner driver was reloaded. Other printers on this machine (local) work, but the network one won't.
Not affecting other PC's capabilities to send documents to the 4600, just this one machine

Try reinstalling the pcl 6 driver if that doesnt work try another document or it could also be the jet direct card.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

PCL XL error when i give command to the printer from my pc, i get the following error PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: IllegalTag Operator: Oxlb Postion: 6

I already answered this, but the response did not get posted.

The short answer is that the PCL XL interpreter has picked up the use of the "Escape Code" (0x1B) in the incoming datastream. This command is used for the standard versions of PCL, most notable PCL 5e. It is not used in the PCL XL datastream.

PCL XL error...hp printer

You can download a firmware update program from hp's website that will automatically update the firmware on your printer. I would start there and make sure you are using the most current version.

PCL XL error

It is a driver error, try another printer driver version or use PCL 5 rather then PCL 6 driver,

Check your USB cable it must be HighSpeed or USB 2 cable.
