Touchpad not scrolling

My dell inspiron 1525 touchpad is not scrolling even though i hav tried different versions of the dell touchpad drivers provided by dell on its website.Drivers provided by dell such as R180045 (manufacturer -Alps) does not even install. One of the drivers i got, that was of 12.8 MB (R155586:manufacturer-Synaptics) .I installed it but still the scrolling does not take place.

i had to re load vista becasue my hard drive broke and i had to buy a new one. The differenced i have noticed so far are that i cannot use the scrollers on my laptop (which is very frustrating!) and my "switch between windows" mode is different.

How do i get the scroll on the side of my dell inspiron 1525 to work again?

You will need to go to the support section over at Dell and enter in your service tag from the bottom of the laptop. You then need to look in the "drivers" section and download the Dell Synaptics Touchpad drivers and install them. That should bring your scrolling area of the touchpad back to life.

Touchpad problems

Palmcheck is a feature of certain Synaptics Touchpad drivers. If you have a notebook with a synaptic touchpad installed, you can probably apply a driver update to acquire this feature for your system. You'll simply need to find an updated driver and install it.
Check the Dell support site to begin with, and see what version driver they offer for download for your system. (The higher the number, the newer the version.) Then look in your device manager and check the version of the driver installed for your touchpad. If Dell doesn't offer a newer version, you may be able to find one online, such as here or here. This tutorial will safely guide you through the whole process.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!

Touchpad not scrolling

You, someone/something else may have disabled it unexpectedly and/or unintentionally; like what happened to me :(

Solution:

- Go to Task Manager

- Go to Mouse settings and Enable "Virtual Scroll" <-- (May be called something different depending on the OS too)

Hope I helped
