Re: 29 inch flat screen TV
You probably have a problem with the back light inverters or the bulbs with this set. If you have no electronic background with working with TV sets, call in a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck

Hello If baklight CCFL tubes become weak, the brightness will be very weak. Now you can see the picture with least brighness. So it is sure that, the backlight inverter board is working well. Just check the CCFL lamps. For a 37 inch LCD tv may have atleast 14 CCFL lamps. When replacing, do replace all at one time. OK.
Go to your TV MENU (you can find the button on the remote or on the TV itself) Go to PICTURE SETTINGS- here you will find color settings and brightness settings Go to COLOR SETTINGS and just adjust the bars until the picture on the screen is the right color. Go back and click on BRIGHTNESS- here you can adjust the bar to make it brighter and easier to see your picture. Save your settings and exit the tv menu.
with a flashlight at the back of the set often times there is an adjustment you can make WITHOUT having to open the set!!!
look for a little hole in the back of the plastic cabinet labeled SCREEN then with a flat screwdriver holding only the plastic handle, insert it into the hole and SLOWLY rotate until the screen brightens up until it is watchable.
This is compensating for age in the picture tube. you may get a few day or a few more years! of a much better picture.
If you start seeing some thin lines on the screen then back off you have gone too far. Do this adjustment with the brightness and contrast controls on the menu turned up all the way.
it is also safe to play with the focus adjustment right next to the screen if thing seem a little blurry. you will need two people one to watch from a distance for best picture.
Are you really sure , your set has video? How dark is it ? As if really nothing visible? Am, sure you can hear sounds. You can adjust the brightness + button to increase the brightness. But if nothing happens , you have problem with your TV set. The problem might be in the Video section. Please let an expert technician to check it. Please don't do it by yourself, it's risky.
Please send feedback whatever comes up. So we can help you further in the future.
