Hi....to start with, if you don't have a manual, you can pick one up from the D-Link site. Enter your router model in the dropdown box to locate the right one.

You can then follow the tip: Secure Your Wireless Router - your manual should help with the details.

If you need assistance, please come back to Fixya with your model name and number, and let us know how we can help.

Good luck

Belkin wireless..how do isecure it

By this I assume you mean that you want to prevent unauthorized access to your wireless router anf therefore Internet and your computer/s on your network.
1. Change the router's default password.
2. Change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
3. Setup encryption use WAP2 if possible, if not then WAP.
4. Setup MAC address filtering (ie. the MAC address of the wireless card on your computer) This allows only the listed MAC addresses to connect to this router.
5. The wireless card in your computer needs to be configured with the wireless router's settings.

Ibought an Identical WGr614 to replace the one I have (which works fine) but cant seem to get the new one to work. It will not connect with the modem (Brighthouse TV) believe they are with RR. I was led to...

If it is identical, it probably has the same IP gateway and is conflicting with the existing router. You need to go into the setup page of the new unit and change the gateway to 192.168.1.1. or 10.10.0.1
The default is 192.168.0.1, which is probably what your original is set to.

New HP laptop will not connect to wireless secure network

Problem solved. I disabled the security on my network. I connected the new laptop to the unsecure network. I saved the settings on the laptop for the unsecure network. I rebooted the laptop. I re-enabled security on the router. I tried to connect to the network. I got an error on the laptop saying the network saved settings did not match. I modified the settings to a secure network on the laptop and saved the 128 bit key. Rebooted everything. All works fine now.

Ibought new Belkin router it totally not working I try to thorugh cable even

hello!

-- who is your internet service provider
-- what is the operating system of your computer?
-- is this working fine before or is this a brand new router

i have read the same problem on the supportrix forum and you may try this and see if this help solve your problem. make sure your computer is directly connected to the router

Step 1: Shutdown the computer.
Step 2: reset the router while power on then Unplug the router’s power cable.
Step 3: Unplug the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Plug in the Broadband modem’s power cable and wait for its lights to appear stable.
Step 5: Plug in the router's power cable once the modem’s lights appear stable.
Step 6: Power on the computer on and configure the router settings
Step 7: test the Internet connection.

if this still didnot work, upgrade the firmware of your router and repeat the same steps.

note:

configuring the router settings will depends who is your provider. if your isp is dsl you need to configure your ISP username (email address format) and password on the router. if your router is a cable no need to change any settings on the router. it should automatically work

if you are still having trouble configuring your device, try to call supportrix
