Called the toll free number for the company and ordered a replacement cover.

I have a west bend crockery cooker, model 84316. It was given as a gift. My wife has tried to use it 3 times and each time the outside becomes to hot to touch, while the contents of the removable crock gets only luke warm. I also noticed the bottom of the cooker has turned brown from excess heat, looks like a possible fire hazzard. Does anyone have this problem, is there a recall on this product.

MarBeck doesn't stock the larger size (10" x 12 1/2") for the 6 qt. slow cookers. Any other suggestions? Not on the Hamilton Beach site either.
SOURCE: I need a lid
Believe or not, go to your local Goodwill Store! They have tons of crocks and the lids and the cookers separate frm each other that have been donated becase one of the pieces was broken and they donated the rest of the pieces. Lids and crocks typically range from $1.99 to $5.99 and you benefit your community at the same time.
SOURCE: Where can I find replacement
You can find parts here at Hamilton Beach. The way the site works, I can't give you a direct link to the results page. You'll need to pick your product (slow cookers) from the drop-down menu and then enter your model number to get the list. They show a couple of different lids available and you can order direct from them.
