the lengths of screws are shown.. buy new screws and barrel nut to ensure they will work. If you have hex key take it o hardware store and choose screws that fit wrench.
You just take off the rail and Tada! it's a Toddler bed.
Then you can change from elmo sheets to Pokemon sheets and Tada! it's a Day/Bed. I don't know how they get away with advertising it as a 4-in-1 since there is no material difference between the daybed and the toddler bed.
u can go to graco.com for instructions and get them to send u a new one if that wont work contact me again and ill give u more advise i have a graco crib also thanks
It is very simple to convert a cribto a toddlers bed. You just need to remove the side railings by folding them under the bed. It would be automatically converted to a bed that a toddler can use
Most if not all of the simplicity brand drop-side cribs have been recalled, including the Graco 8740.
Here is the CPSP link regarding this crib: http://www.cpsc.gov/CPSCPUB/PREREL/prhtml09/09260list.html http://www.cpsc.gov/cpscpub/prerel/prhtml07/07307.html
According to the CPSP information the company appears to be out of business to some degree and are not providing repair kits.
If you know where you purchased the crib, check to see what their policy is regarding recalled baby products.
We had purchased ours at walmart almost 8 years ago and were able to return it to another store in a different state for a full refund last summer. They did not need a receipt received, they just needed the manufacturer label on the part that the mattress lies on.
Because ours was older, the customer service clerk did have to work hard to find the crib in their system, but once she did, it was not problem at all.
Also, the bed is made to convert to a headboard for a full size bed and so it may be a little bit wide to work with a twin sized bed.
I have all the instructions posted in an album on photobucket.com. In the site only search field (not the web search) type emilykenepp and change the search criteria from images to people. This should bring you to my profile- under my albums I have an album titled Graco Lauren Crib Assembly Instructions. Click on that and you should be good to go! Pages 10 and 11 are for the conversions. Also, for any further assistance, the customer service number for LaJobi (the people who actually manufacture the crib for Graco) is 1-888-266-2848 and for Graco it's 1-800-345-4109. Hope this helps!
