My Toshiba MD13N1 won't turn on.

It was working perfectly when I went away on vacation, and now that I'm back, it won't turn on. It starts to, and then just doesn't. If I unplug the TV entirely, and then plug it back in, it'll turn on for about 10 seconds. I'm not sure what to do. Has anyone else had this happen? Is my TV just dead? Help, please!

Thanks. I was really hoping it was something I could fix myself, but I think you're right.

The defective component could be horizontal output transistor (Q406) on the Toshiba TV model number MD13N1C.

Will not power, led blinking
check R640 (1K 1/4w) if open replace ic600 (8-759-670-30)
Standby led blinks slowly, a few times, chassis won't start up
I changed the vertical deflection ic type TDA8170 and I measured two leaky capacitors in the power supply. Better to change all 4 capacitors in the power unit, everything was then ok !

Welcome to Fixya! You have a Bad Power Supply. If you want to keep this TV and Are not Mechanically Inclined I would find an Authorized Service Center for this Repair. Not a Very Expensive Repair also.

Toshiba hd tv won't turn on

Start-up voltage do not come to the main power regulator board, from the main board. The fault is somewhat complicated one, as so many checks should be done to reach the exact fault point. Only an experienced service person can do this. Actually this is not a user repairable fault. Contact any experienced service technician.

Car was rinning perfect. One day it would not start. there was nothing, no clicking ,bell and guages were working. Jump start was nothing. Installed a new battery there was nothing. Went bact back 2 hours...

It sounds like you have an issue with your PassLock security system. I had the same with my 2002 Impala. Key turns OK, but won't start, won't crank. Wait 20-30 minutes, and car starts normally. There is usually a clue from the Battery and Security lights.
The problem starting to happen once a month, and eventually 1-2 times a week.
There are several write-ups on this problem for several GM cars for 2000-2006(?). Search this website, and search the web.
The official solution is to replace the ignition switch. The best solution is to bypass the Pass Lock system. I went ahead and did a full bypass, which involves cutting wires and adding resistors to the ignition circuit. I have not had a problem since.

Problems with replacement remote.

If it is a Toshiba remote specifically for your model it should work straight away.

If it is a universal remote you have, you will need to program in the Toshiba four digit code. If you don't have this you might be able to get it online from the remote suppliers website.
