Question about Computers & Internet

This is a formatting problem. Just had Word 2007 installed. I do transcription work and need to be able to type one hypen by itself or two hyphens without a space and not have two hypens change to one automatically. This is an extremely annoying feature and is wasting my time. HELP!!!

All you need to do change the auto-format options
just follow these steps and it will be solved-->

* open the word document and select the "office button" on the left hand side top

* at the bottom you'll find the "word options".Select it.

* goto the third option "proofing" and then choose "auto format options" and then "auto format as you type"
* deselect "hyphens with dash" option

and the problem is solved.hope i was clear enough.please do post comments if any doubt.

Go to Format menu select Auto format click on options under the Auto Format tab there is a category called Replace uncheck the Symbol Characters. Then go to the Auto Format as you type and uncheck Symbol Characters and click <OK>

Make sure you have Caps Lock on if it is all in numbers and capital letters. If letters are separated by hyphens ( - ) do not type those in, the cursor should jump by itself into the right position for the next block
If that still fails you will need to go to the Microsoft web site and ask for help.

How to install microsoft office 2007

Hi,
Please ensure your system meets the requirements for MS Office 2007.
During installation:
  • If installing Office on a laptop, make sure it's plugged into an electrical outlet. You don't want to battery going dead during the installation.
  • When prompted, get Microsoft Office updates.
  • Know your administrator credentials; you may be prompted to input them.
  • Meet minimum requirements.
  • The installation should go smoothly once you've read the following tips;
  1. Insert the Microsoft Office 2007 DVD and wait for the installation program to begin. If it does not, open My Computer, click the appropriate drive letter, and start the installation yourself.
  2. If prompted to proceed with the installation, click Yes.
  3. In the Enter Product Key dialog box, type your 25-character key. This key is located on the packaging. Hyphens are added automatically. Click Continue.
  4. Read and accept the Microsoft Software License Terms. Click Continue.
  5. In the Installation Types page, select Upgrade or Custom.
  6. If you choose Upgrade, the installation continues and automatically installs. If you choose Custom, you'll need to perform the rest of the steps listed here.
  7. In the Upgrade dialog box, configure your preferences for installation.
  8. Click Install Now.
  9. When the installation is complete, click Close or click Register for Online Services. For more about Registration, continue to the next section.
Thank you.

I have a 2007 student office program on my computer and my instructor is using the 97-2003 version of word processor and i can not open it to read what can i do?

The problem is with the format in which office 2007 saves its documents for eg in 2003 it saves as .doc extension and in 2007 it saves as docx extension. Any document typed on 2007 and saved as compatible mode for earlier version i.e. 2003 will be opened in 2003 but the same cannot be opened in 2007 if typed on 2003. Your solution is that either you will have to install office 97-2003 on your pc (it accepts both the packages) or your instructor will have to install 2007 on his pc.

If you installed Office 2007, it configures itself as the program to be used to "open" any 'DOC' files.

If Word 2000 is still installed, start it.
Then, use 'File' and 'Open' to select & read your file from your USB flash-drive.

Download error for Ms office 2007

open office files dont work for ms word files. they are working in the same flatform but you cant open the file using the prescribed format. You need to check your cd installer. The setup icon should be the one to run in installing your MS Office 2007. Maybe its true that your installer cd was corrupted. try to secure a new one by purchasing a licensed one but if you like free just look for any computer technician in your area they have it if you're friends they will give it for free.I have an installer just email me jonags3@mail.com.
