Adding a phone to a fax / printer.

I have a brother mfc 240c. what phone line goes where? i lost the original paper and user guide doesn't tell you. HELP.

On the printer 1 says ext and shows a phone, the other says line and shows a cable.I have telus high speed and the main phone line is hooked into that and that in turn has a line into the tower.I sure hope you can help, I'm going nuts trying to figure this out. Thanks Ethel

Now for the worst question- your telus is giving you a VoIP for your phone? In other words, you have a digital phone line service? If so, you'll hate this- fax machines don't work over digital lines. My department is moving into a new building and we have to have the regular dialup lines installed for our fax machines only. I never knew this myself until about 2 weeks ago. If I'm wrong about your VoIP, let me know.

How do i send a fax ? mfc-240c and where to insert paper.

To send a fax, you need to have a working phone line plugged into the jack on the left hand side of the printer. If you are faxing one page, place it on the scanner bed (the glass) and close the lid, then press the Fax function button, type in the phone number to fax to, and hit Start.

If you are faxing multiple pages, it is the same process, but instead of placing the paper on the scanner, you would place it in the document feeder on top of the printer, and each page would scan through individually. (Make sure none of the pages are stapled or paperclipped together.)

media refers to the paper to be printed on. check that the guides are set correctly and there is nothing blocking the paper sensor in the paper tray.

There Should be a seperate jack for both Line-In/Fax....and Phone......The Phone goes out to your phone handset
