It an all electric timer. Problem is the unit is decieding it out of balance and constantly trying to rebalance it. I bet the clothes are wet when you take them out too.

..05.04.09 The problem is that the washer cannot balance a load. I was told by warranty repair person that GE tells them to advise customers to load only like items, eg. towels, or nylon underwear, or sheets, but not to mix loads and to load 3/4 full. (I assume because of the balance problem.) A friend had the same washer and had the same problem. The balance problem causes washer to "walk" and "wobble" and prevents fast spin so that the clothes are never "spun dry" before placing in the dryer. I have spent as much as 4 hours to complete a stain wash cycle that should only take 2 hours 56minutes. Plus, I had to babysit the washer to maker sure it did not "walk" into my water hoses and burst them. I don't believe this problem is fixable in this unit.

I am now beginning the process to get satisfaction through replacement or upgrade, dcb texas

The clock timer might be faulty.Need to Replace it.Since the machine is new, it must be under warranty and can be subjected to replacement.Problems with clock timers is common with any washer. Its better when detected early like in this case.Good luck. Please do post your comments.

Why does my LG WM1814CW's timer get stuck during cycles, A 28 Min cycle will take 45 Min.

It could likely be that this is during a fill portion of the wash or rinse cycle, and the water inlet is restricted not allowed the full flow into the tub. If this is the case, check both ends of the hose connections for a plugged / restricted filter. run some water into a container with hose off to purge any additional minerals from the intake.

AUTOMATIC HEAT SETTINGS NOT WORKING PROPERLY

lg's have a dry sensor that senses the wetness of the load they are not that reliable.. and will shut down the machine does it work on manual timer? meaning set it on high for 30 minutes.. it will probably run the 30 minutes... I have had this issue with my lg and so I just use the manual settings cheaper than having a 300$ service call. Its a problem with the dry sensor on the lining of the drum...

GE basic timer model 15131 manual missing

It's a little backward from what I was thinking. The "Stops" haveto be UP for the timer to be OFF. When you want the timer toturn an object ON you push the "Stops" DOWN.Thanks to geno_3245 for posting the initial information.

When the timer gets down to 1 minute left and the machine is on the spin cycle, it takes another 10-20 minutes to finish the cycle. The total 40 min. cycle takes over an hour to complete. Does anyone know...

The timer is only an estimate. pull the botttom cover of the front of the machine. There is a cleanout on the water pump, if its clogged it could be the cause of your timer taking so long
