How to recovery a hp envy dv7

It depends on which operating system you are using. Here are instructions for Windows 7:
  1. Click on Start -> All Programs -> Maintenance.

Tip: An alternative is to execute from the Run box or a Command Prompt window. If you do that, you can skip to Step 3 below.
  2. Click on the Create a System Repair Disk shortcut.
  3. Choose your optical disk drive from the Drive: drop-down box.
  4. Insert a blank disk in your optical drive.

Note: An empty CD should be large enough for a System Repair Disk. I created a Windows 7 System Repair Disk on a new Windows 7 32-bit installation and it was only 145MB. If you only have a blank DVD or BD available, that's okay too of course.
  5. Click the Create disk button.

Windows 7 will now create the System Repair Disk on the blank disk you inserted in the previous step. No special disk burning software is required.
  6. After the System Repair Disk creation is complete, Windows 7 displays a dialog box that you can close by clicking the Close button.
  7. Click the OK button back on the original Create a system repair disk window that's now showing up on your screen.
  8. Label the disk as "Windows 7 System Repair Disk" and keep it someplace safe.

You can now from this disk to access System Recovery Options, the set of system recovery tools available for the Windows 7.

Tip: As with a Windows 7 installation disk, you'll need to watch for a for a Press any key to boot from CD or DVD... message on screen, right after your computer turns on or restarts with the System Repair Disk inserted.

HP Pavillion Desktop Computer, with windows vista installed. Tried to do a system recovery using disks that ex hubby created for me and now I can't log back on.

may be the disk can not read by windows update. Try to recover by using RESTORE the computer to some date that was working before.
Update the BIOS +CHIPSET and try it.

Hi there,

What are the Troubleshooting steps you have tried?

Have you tried Microsoft website?

Do you have the Blinking Cursor?

Access the link below and try to perform a starup repair, as it might help us to fix the issue.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/925810

If the issue persists after performing the startup repair, try to perform a system restore.
1. Insert the installation disc.
Note The computer must be configured to start from a CD or from a DVD. For information about how to configure the computer to start from a CD or from a DVD, see the information that came with the computer.
2. Restart the computer. To do this, click Start , click the arrow next to the Lock button, and then click Restart .
Note If you cannot restart the computer by using this method, use the power button to turn off the computer. Then, turn the computer back on.
3. Set your language preference, and then click Next .
Note In most cases, the startup repair process starts automatically, and you do not have the option to select it in the System Recovery Options menu.
4. Click Repair your computer.
5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6. In the System Recovery Options menu, click System Restore.
7. In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
8. In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to experience the issue, and then click Next.
Click Finish.

The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created.

Post back if it is not working we will be happy to help you.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!!!!

HP Pavillion DV9000t ''Unrecoverable error has occured''

The recovery disk is defective so the install is bad. Install using another disk (even a generic retail one of the same type will do) and your key.

Hp pavillion dv6000 I need to do a system recovery. How ?

  • Hi, these are instruction to perform the System Restore; follow them carefully! You will need Disks (CD or DVD); only if you needed to Backup System Files, before restoring the system; in which you may be (prompt) to do so. So have available beforehand, at least 7ea, of (DVD-R), or (DVD+R), or (DVD+RW) @ 4.7 GB ready! *Note: It is important to make, Recovery Disks for the computer as well, in the event of system failure! *System Restore: 1. Go, to: Control Panel 2. Click, on: System and Maintenance 3. Click, on: Backup and Restore Center 4. In the (left) Tasks area, click on Repair Windows using System Restore 5. Windows may take up to 5Mins, to Setup a Restore Point; be patience! 6. The restore Wizard 7. Use (Recommended) Restore Point. Be patience! your computer will Shutdown, and Restart. *Note: Once the computer returns to Windows Desktop, do not perform any tasks, for at least (45 min) the System Restore is still running! *Conclusion: "Message successfully restored, or failed to complete restore? Follow “prompt message,” for further recommendations." "Helpful Ratings Feedback is appreciated, thanks paul7of9”

Hp Pavillion dv6000 has disappeared says I do not have one

I trust your are referring to your hard drive.
Sounds like either your hard drive was damaged or has a virus which wiped out information in the partition.
Hard drives can be damaged if the computer is dropped or is handled roughly.
I suspect that your data is lost in either case.
You can try using your recovery CD to restore your operating system and drivers. This will work if your computer had a virus.
If it doesn't work, then your only option is to buy another hard drivve.
