Question, is there a motor thermal protector on this vacuums? and

if yes where is it located, is there a troubleshooting manual that I can dowload?

  • ldangond Jan 19, 2009

    thanks...

  • ldangond Jan 21, 2009

Thanks, the problem was corrected apparently the thermal protector for whatever reason was to close to the motor and it was sensing the heat and shutting it down, relocated the sensor away from the motor and closer to the cooler area in the chamber and that did the trick, thank again...

When the motor stops, this is usually caused by an restriction in air flow...caused by a full bag, dirty filter or blockage. do you wait for about 30 minuites and it you can turn it on again? have you changed th dirt cup filter in the last 2 years? have you ever washed the dirt cup filter? if you have washed it, you should not have, however, once washed and dried the fibers would have expanded and will cause a restricted air flow condition. If all of this check ok, you may still have an electrical issue, and would recomend bringing that to a trusted Vac shop.

Yes, there is a thermal protector. located in the motor cavity. it is wired in series with the motor. Should be serviced by trained technicians with electrical problems. No, there are no troubleshooting manuals available.

How to stop the main belt from comming off the motor shaft on a hoover modle u6634-900/windtunnel

Hello there! If you have replaced the belt and it is still slipping off, you may be not have the right belt for your vacuum. This unit takes a flat belt and a v-belt. Make sure you are replacing the belts with Genuine Hoover Parts. I have included the links below where you may go to order the belts specific to your cleaner.

Vacuum shuts off while in use

There is a thermal reset inside the motor that shuts it off. There may be a clog.somewhere or something restricting the airflow, it could be clogged filters. If there are no clogs or restrictions it is possible the thermal reset is bad in which case you will have to replace the motor.

Why doe my hoover mach3 stop during operation? I have to wait until the moter cools down. Then i turn on the switch normal way. Then a few minutes latter it stops again.

Your Hoover is stopping because it is overheating. This is a sure sign that there is a blockage somewhere. Find the blockage and clear it, and that should solve the problem.

Hoover U5780-900 Windtunnel a month 1/2 old just started stopping when it is running and wont turn back on for a few hours why?

The motor has a thermal protection sensor on it. So your motor may be going bad, it is pulling to many amps for some reason, could be a clog somewhere or a bad bearing in the motor.

Hoover windtunnel..runs fine for 5 minutes then stops?

OK - sounds like your machine has a blockage somewhere. Follow manufacturer's instructions for clearing blockages and all should be well. If you no longer have the manual, you can download it from the Hoover website.
Good luck!

Hoover windtunnel U5753-900 will not start

The most likely problem is the on off switch. but it could also be related to the motor or a connection. But definitely electrical in nature. suggest to take it in for service.

Vacuum shuts off

It sounds like the hose from the bottom part is plugged. The motor has a high temperature protection that will shut the motor off if it overheats but will come back on once it cools. The motor will overheat if any restriction of airflow occurs. If the overload sensor reacts too many times, it will eventuall start to shut off before it should, so you should address the problem asap. Check the area behind the roller and the hose leading up to the connection to the attachment hose for blockage. Also, make sure you are not setting the machine height adjust too low. This will make the bottom plate sit down too close and cause a restriction in air flow to the motor.
