After replacing a dead car battery, the unit will not turn on

I replaced the car battery after leaving the lights on and now the DH-2000mp will not turn on. The clock display is also not showing, like there's no power. The fuses of the vehicle are OK and there is 12 v on the vehicle radio circuit. I'm puzzled as to what it is. Anyone have any ideas?

Locate the fuse panel in the engine compartment near the battery... there is also a fuse panel under the dash... replace the relays for that circuit.... likely burned out.

What colour wires do i need to use to wire up rear speakers on a pioneer 2000mp headunit

should be listed on the unit itself, however if youre attempting an install there are vehicl specific plug-n-play kits available that cure these headaches with out breaking the bank, and they can be found starting around 10.00 and you dont need to hack up your factory harness to install after market equiptment

After reconnecting the car battery, the radio would not turn on

The pioneer has a small protection fuse in the back of the radio, alot of time when it catches a power spike, it will blow to protect the head unit. It should be plugged in the back of the radio under the main plug. Hope this helps.

New Radio too powerful for 15 Watt speakers?

Hello mike_mccuske,

The OEM speakers will still work OK with your new Pioneer. Just don't turn it up too loud. Of course you'll get improved sound if you replace the speakers. Your Pioneer's RMS power is 14 watts, and the peak (maximum) power is 50 watts. The door speakers in a 2000 Honda Civic are 6.5" and you can get a set of Pioneer speakers, the TS-G1642R's, from Crutchfield for less than $50. Their RMS power range is 2-30 watts and they can handle a peak power of up to 180 watts.

Hope this helps.

Can't fit subwoofer amp leads to pioneer DEH-2000MP Head unit

pioneer head units only distribute like 200 rms or so to the speakers. you might have to find a blue maybe even blue with white striped wire and nick it just enough to tie your amp wire around it. tape it up and see if it works.

Clock

The manual was even wrong on this one. What you have to do is:

1. turn the key to the run position
2. push and hold the volume knob in until the unit turns off.
3. push it in again and hold it, the unit will turn back on and if you keep holding the button in the hour will start to flash
4. use the up/down, left/right buttons to set the time
5. push the button one more time and its all set

Stereo works on assessory switch but cuts off when start car

you will have to separate the red and yellow wires. they cannot run together. the red should be connected to the fuse box. there is a slot labeled batt on your fuse box under the dash. there is also an auxiliary wire in the stereo slot used by you factory set. use this for the yellow wire connection.

Connecting Pioneer DEH-2000MP to an amplifier

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

You would need a special adapter that connects to the speaker wires of the Pioneer DEH-2000MP and converts them to line level RCA ports. Something like the image below and available from here or most car stereo stores.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.
