When you say copy, I assume you mean scan copy. Check your scan settings. Change it to DPI of 75 and monochrome. See if the purple is present. Also make sure the contrast is set to default.
What I dislike is sometimes manufacturers use color ink when you want to print black. It causes you to replace your color more often. To me it is dishonest. Anyway, try the scan settings.

We are going through ink like crazy on our Epson 600 Workforce fax. It's supposed to yield up to 500 copies, and we just replaced cartridge yesterday and it already says ink low. Can I change a setting...

just so you know, the # of copies are based at 5% coverage, so make sure that is whats happening. When you are telling the printer to print, in the printer drivers, you can select rough draft type printing where it will use less ink.

Also, make sure your not using generic ink.

The printer will print ok in color, but will not print black ink. No copy or printing.

My best guess without knowing more is that your printer has both a color print cartridge and a black ink print cartirdge. Replace the black ink cartridge and you should be fine. You might also find that replacing the entire printer is less expensive....All the best!

Installed all new ink cartridges and now poor printing results

Dear louis,
You have done right thing by cleaning the print head. If the print head still clogged after repeatedly cleaning, It seems that the print head need to be replace with new one. Make it sure by printing nozzle check pattern. Is it good or not?.

Canon pixma mp210 printer - replaced ink cartridges with compatible ones - printer working fine except when printing both ink lamps come on solidly, not blinking, and status says there is no ink in...

Dear merryan,

This printer uses FINE cartridge which has memory chip inside that store ink level data. Once the cartridge is EMPTY we cannot restore this data to be FULL even though we physically refill ink until FULL. So the printer keep displays NO INK warning.

Similar with using compatible cartridge, NO INK warning still remain because ink level data has been recorded as empty. Why?. Here is the explanation. As far as I know no third party compatible cartridge produced this printer since canon protect it with the chip. Compatible cartridge that sold in the market is refurbish cartridge which repacked with another brand.

To fix this problem we need to deactivate ink level detection function by holding down STOP/RESET button for about 9 seconds or more for each cartridge. The consequence of this is ink level become UNKNOWN.
Hope this will be helpful to you

Xanda

Hi, I haven't used my Canon S330 printer for some months, and when I plugged it in just now, it wouldn't print. I replaced both cartridges, and still no printing. The cartridge moves fairly quickly back...

in the print head there are hundreds of minute holes from where the ink of the cartridge comes out when you remove the head check whether the ink is coming from the holes in the head .if the ink is not coming the head may be dry and if the very less ink is coming then some of the holes are blocked. the ink has to come out from that holes for printing.

thanks.

Slow Printing

Hi, The slow printing issue can occure even if the cartridges are out or low in ink try to check the print function by the stand alone unit by printing a self test page Here are the steps to print a self test page: On the front panel of the product, press Menu (or Setup) . Press the Right Arrow until Print Reports displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . Press the Right Arrow until Self-Test Report displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . If the self test page takes less time to print and if all the color blocks and black block print fine the ink level are fine. if the time for self test is also more try to clean the cartridge contacts and replace the cartridges if needed this will fix the issue. If the printer works fine as stand alone self test and copy try to performe the steps in the below webpage: ========== http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00093466&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=2512010&rule=10185&lang=en ========== If the issue is still un fixed try to set the print directly settings in the printer properties Click on start >> control panel >> printer and faxes >> there look for the HP printer icon with the check mark and right click on it and select properties and then click on advance tab and under it select the print directly to printer and click on apply and ok to save the settings. Once done try to print and check with the issue. Hope this will fix the issue. Regards, Barret.
