Question about Emerson MW8777W Microwave Oven

Need a replacement fuse for an Emerson Microwave Model MW8774

The fuse appears to be a 15a 250v ceramic 20mm. I can't seem to find this length anywhere, only the 1-1/4"

Do you know the correct fuse and do you have a supplier for it. Emerson company and their parts supplier is useless.

Mine is also same problem. The required fuse specifications are 15A 250V Ceramic 20x5mm. I can't find this length anywhere. The only length I am finding is 1-1/4". I spoke to Emerson Customer care people the only thing what they are telling is to send the entire machine to their location. But that cost me around $15. It's not worh enough. Pls. suggest me where can I get this?

Please understand there are some liability issues that Emerson or their parts supplier have in selling you the fuse.

You should be able to find one by going online and searching with the terms you gave, using Google. I just did, and there are a number of hits to choose from.

Try Sears Parts Direct or Repair Clinic as well. You will need to enter your model number to find the parts listing.

In all likelihood, you have a failed controller board or microwave circuit (magnetron, transformer, diode, capacitor). Be prepared for additional troubleshooting.

The fuse in my microwave oven is burnt. It was rated 15A 125V. Can I replace it with a 15A 250V fuse? What are the pros and cons? I don't want to risk damaging the appliance.

Yes, if it will fit in the holder tightly... you can always change a low voltage with a higher voltage but never take out a 250 and install a 125...

I have a blown internal fuse on my JennAir M170b microwave. The fuse holder says 250V, 15A fuse, but the fuse that was in there is a 125V, 15A fuse. The micro plugs into a normal 110V circuit. Which type...

The information on the fuse is the maximum rating. The holder may not match the rating.

The 'A' is the very important part of the size. You will need a 15 Amp fuse. The best fuse to use is 'ceramic'. You can find them at Radio Shack in the back of the store there are drawers with electrical parts.

15 Amp ceramic

Emerson mw810255 how do i check fuse? where do i

15A & 20A ceramic fuses can be had locally in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Your fuse can be tested with a test light, continuity tester, multimeter, etc.

You should also check the thermal cutout / thermostat on the magnetron in your oven is truly dead.

I need a fuse-- part number 314012, 12A or ces6 12A

Any electronics parts supplier should have a 12A 250v ceramic fuse. I get mine at RadioShack.

Fuse is blown

It's 20mm !!
It will have failed for a reason.
At 15amps, I'm guessing your Microwave has a grill too.
It could just be a bulb failure causing the fuse to blow.
Replace it and try again.
If the oven works but no light, that was the cause.

What amp of fuse do I need

There should be a paper tag near the fuse holder, or the fuse holder itself should be marked as to current requirement.

Most older or smaller models used 15A or sometimes 12A ceramic fuses.

Newer or more powerful models use 15A or 20A ceramic fuses.
