Need info on replacing Laser & Fuser for Brother MFC 8860 DN

I have a Brother MFC 8860 DN printer that is indicating only 8% remaining parts life on the Laser and the Fuser. I need to know how much those parts run and what it takes to replace them.

I have the same problem there is a phone number in the maual wich is the Brother support center 18772768437, after a few unnecesary question they will give a phone number of a company near your area that do maintenances services to copy machines, they are the one who will replace those parts, well at least that is what i think i just called them they are getting the prices, good luck.

Responsibly recycle it -- one company (Office Depot) even offers you store-credit if you take it to them for recycling.

Part number brother 9840cdw fuser

Part# LU4103001
About $150
The service manual will be hard if not impossible to find. They only release those to factory authorized service centers. If you just need it for the fuser replacement instructions then often those will be either in the operators manual which is easy to find or the instructions will be in the box that the fuser comes in.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

ithink . brother printer is best, we can always reffil untial drum isnot scarch, some time drum life is endinging as u say iit can be reset . after this we get 100% life. there is no need cheap and tools for reset it. reffiling before we reset cartage by adjusting cartage sides white ring. and we can also reset reffiling after . this treak is secre to tech.

Hi Jodi,
I have a Brother MFC 8860 DN Laser.
Just contacted Brother and they told me the following:
1. Switch off machine from Mains
2. Press and hold the Red "Stop/Exit" button
3. Switch on machine from mains.
It worked fine with me and the memory is back to 000 now.
Hope this helps.

Replace Fuser Reset

For the MFC 8860, I turned off the printer. I help down menu. I turned on the computer. It entered Maintenance mode. I typed in 88 (Parts Replacement.) I scrolled to the fuser, clicked ok. Then, I turned off the printer. When I turned the printer on, it said that I needed to replace my laser. I then turned the printer off, help down menu, turned the printer on, typed in 88 at the maintenance menu (parts replacement), scrolled down to laser, and hit ok. I then turned the printer on and off, and poof, now it works. I find it quite unscrupulous that I had a replace PF Kit1, replace Fuser, and replace laser messages all within one hour...

Resetting "Replace PF Kit 1" message

Same with me on my MFC 8870DW. The procedure worked perfectly:

1) Turn off printer
2) Press and hold menu button and turn on. Keep holding button until you see maintenance on display.
3) Press 88. This brings up parts replacement menu.
4) Press Up arrow until you see the part you replaced (laser, fuser, pf kit1, pf kit mp).
5) Press the OK button.
6) Power off and restart printer.

But how do I know whether or not I really NEED to replace a PF Kit1? I guess I'll find out if it recurs soon.
