First, unplug the appliance and turn off the gas.

You will need to lift the top panel of the dryer by pulling it towards you and lifting up. Sometimes placing a putty knife in the seam at the point where the retaining clips are along the front, will help to release it.

With the top panel released, disconnect the door switch connector wires and ground wire on the front panel. Remove the two screws that hold the front panel to the side panels. There will be one on each side. The front panel will lift up slightly, and off, exposing the dryer interior.

Release the belt tension for the idler pulley near the drive motor and lift the drum (with the belt attached) out of the cabinet. You should now have full access the the burner assembly.

Go to searspartsdirect.com and type in the model number you provided. Look under the "Burner Assembly" heading for items 13 and 14. These are the gas valve solenoids you will need to replace. I don't know where the previous quote came from, but these solenoids do not cost any where near $200 dollars. It is highly recommended that you replace BOTH of them at the same time. The part numbers are 694539 and 694540.

NOTE: You can also find both these parts at appliancepartspros.com for much less. Use the part numbers I provided and use the "Search by Part Number" feature. I still referenced the Sears website, because they offer excellent exploded view diagrams you can use to assist you. I could not find your model number listed on the second site, but the part numbers are still available.

If you still have questions, please let me know. I hope you find this information helpful.

Kenmore Gas Dryer not heating

Find the gas solenoid and tap it with a hammer while the dryer is running, if the heat starts then the solenoid should be replaced.
It is usually behind an access panel along the bottom of the unit.

Kenmore Elite He3 gas dryer (110-92832100) not heating. Igniter glows red for a min or so, drum spins, hear a loud 'buzzing' noise....

The problem could be flame radiant sensor or in most cases the gas valve solenoid coils sitting on top of the gas valves. The radiant sensor must be aligned perfectly with the igniter. The radiant sensor contacts bypasses one of the gas valve solenoid coils and as the igniter heats up it makes the sensor contact trips unbypassing the coil and allowing the gas to flow and be ignited.

The problem is with the solenoid coils,
one with 2-prongs and the other has 3, if the radiant sensor is aligned with igniter and working perfectly but no gas is ignited. The buzzing sound is coming from the coils trying to operate the valves. Replacing both coils is the simple and only viable solution.

I have a Kenmore Gas dryer model 11072702101 gets hot does not spin

Hi, Problem here is that your belt either came off or is broken. To get to it, remove two screws at vent. Take a putty knife and press in on the front left and right sides just under the lid. Lift up and prop. You'll find two more screws at the top of the front on either side. Remove. Front will fall out to you and lift up. Remove doorswitch wires noting where they came off of. NOTE FIRST, UNPLUG THE DRYER! Belt part number is 341241 at $20.38. To install, belt around drum, lay down with flashlite. Belt goes around motor shaft. Pull idler pulley back put belt over it and release. Reinstall cab. way you took it off. Hope this helps.

Kenmore 80 series gas dryer not heating

THE SOLENOID IS A REPLACEABLE PART ONLY. GET YOUR
MODEL # AND PURCHASE A SET OF SOLENOIDS IF YOU ARE SURE THAT IS THE PROBLEM. THE INSTALLATIONS INSTRUCTIONS SHOULD BE IN THE PACKAGE.

BE SURE YOU CHECK FOR A BAD THERMAL FUSE, CYCLING THERMOSTAT, HIGH LIMIT THERMOSTAT, BAD
TEMPERATURE SWITCH, MOTOR CENTRIFUGAL SWITCH, TIMER, AND RADIANT SENSOR. THEY ALSO WILL CAUSE A NO HEAT CONDITION.

Kenmore gas dryer

That model does not have a pilot light.  It has an electronic ignitor.  If it is not igniting, either the igniter is not getting a signal to ignite, the igniter is burned out, or the gas solenoid is broken.  Probably the igniter is burned out.  It is item number 3018 at RepairClinic.com.
